If you’re using a Xiaomi 15 or Xiaomi 15 Ultra in India, there’s a good chance you’ll see a new software update waiting for you soon. Xiaomi has officially confirmed the rollout of HyperOS 3 for both phones, something first spotted through the company’s India X handle and covered by Sidharth Joseph.

Some users have already reported that they haven’t received it yet, which isn’t surprising. Xiaomi usually pushes major updates in batches to avoid any weird glitches slipping through, so it might take a little time before everyone gets it.
What HyperOS 3 Is Trying To Improve
HyperOS 3 is mostly about making everything on the phone feel smoother. Xiaomi says it has worked on more than 100 animations to make the interface look cleaner and move more consistently. The update also reduces the strain on the system, so things should feel a bit snappier and less power-hungry.
There’s also something called Xiaomi Super Island. It’s basically a multitasking space that lets you jump between three floating areas of information. You can drag things around, share bits instantly, and generally move between apps more freely.
A Few Visual Changes Too
The lock screen gets a couple of new looks, including a centered clock and more cinematic-style layouts. The icons and home screen grid have been refreshed, and you’ll now see AI Dynamic Wallpapers that change depending on different situations.
The photo album isn’t left out either. You can sort photos more easily, share them faster, and even paste images between a Xiaomi phone and an iPhone, which is surprisingly handy if you switch between devices.
Better Device Connectivity
One thing Xiaomi has been pushing lately is cross-device flexibility. HyperOS 3 tries to make this smoother. You’ll get better transitions between Xiaomi phones and tablets, but what’s interesting is how well this now works with Macs and iPads.
Features like notification sync, Face ID unlock support through connected devices, and upgraded multi-window tools make it easier to keep your work flowing across platforms. You can even reply to messages from your Xiaomi phone directly on an iPhone, which is something nobody expected a few years ago.
Smarter AI Features and Stronger Privacy
Xiaomi’s Super Xiao AI is more deeply baked into the system now. It can translate instantly, help you search visually, set shortcuts, and offer suggestions based on what you do most often.
Privacy gets a boost too. HyperOS 3 brings tighter encryption and better control over which devices stay logged into your Xiaomi account. One small but important feature is the ability to track your phone even when it’s powered off or offline.
Waiting for the Update?
If your phone hasn’t received the update yet, don’t stress. Xiaomi usually rolls out big OS updates slowly. It helps them catch bugs early and avoid issues for people getting it later.
With the Xiaomi 17 series already being tested in India, this update gives Xiaomi 15 users something fresh to enjoy while waiting to see what’s next.
