Fellowship is off to a strong start on Steam, according to developer Chief Rebel, which reported high player engagement based on several metrics. Coupled with its largely favorable user reviews, the game is shaping up to be another compelling addition to Steam‘s ever-growing selection of co-op RPGs.
Fellowship is marketed as a “MODA,” or multiplayer online dungeon adventure. Another soundbite used in its promotional materials is “no endless grind,” referencing its MMO-lite gameplay loop. The game aims to let players form four-person parties and jump directly into rewarding dungeons, avoiding the time-consuming setups typical of traditionally grindy MMOs.
Game Rant, HyperX, and Fellowship are giving away a variety of high-end gaming accessories and 13 copies of the newly released ‘MODA’ game.
Fellowship Surpasses 7 Million Hours Played
Just over a month following its October 16 release, Fellowship has already generated significant momentum. In a recent development update, studio Chief Rebel shared that its players have already logged over 7.2 million hours in the early access game, clearing 9 million dungeons in the process. 49 million player deaths were recorded during launch month. SteamDB data scraped via Valve’s API adds context, showing a peak of 43,841 concurrent players reached on October 19, the first Sunday after launch. As is typical for co-op RPGs and most other genres, interest in Fellowship has declined since release, though the game continues to maintain a daily peak of around 10,000 players.
More Fellowship Content Is on the Way
While the post-launch decline was expected, Fellowship now has a tight window of opportunity to grow its player base and re-engage existing users through meaningful content additions and other updates. Those are planned throughout the early access period, which is currently estimated to run for at least six months. Chief Rebel confirmed a holiday event planned for December 11, as well as a pre-season reset for Q1 2026 that will wipe everything except for select cosmetics, namely Mounts and Outfits. The reset will coincide with a substantial content drop expanding many aspects of Fellowship, including its Hero roster, which will receive an additional character. Even more Heroes are in development, including a “more technical Healer” and a “support-style Tank.”
Fellowship‘s grindless MMO formula appears to have resonated with players, with the game currently holding 73.83% positive reviews on Steam, which the platform categorizes as “Mostly Positive.” According to third-party estimates, the co-op RPG has sold approximately 480,000 copies in its first five weeks. It remains available at a 20% launch discount, reducing its price from $24.99 to $19.99. The promotion is scheduled to end on December 4. Developer Chief Rebel said it will “likely” raise the price once the game exits early access but has not yet made a final decision on the matter.
Fellowship Steam Sales Estimates
The Swedish studio’s latest developer update also saw it commit to adding more weapon traits, Legendaries, and Set Bonuses to Fellowship in the coming months. Additional Curses and Dungeons are also part of the game’s near-future roadmap, together with matchmaking improvements, better onboarding (tutorials), and “expanded social tools,” among other novelties.
