We recently reported that Apple is working on the next generation of its ultra-thin iPhone Air – the iPhone Air 2. However, according to a new report from The Information, Apple has reportedly delayed the launch of its iPhone Air 2. Here’s what the new report suggests:
Apple Reportedly Delays iPhone Air 2 Launch
According to The Information, Apple has reportedly “notified engineers and suppliers that the next iPhone Air has been taken off the schedule,” without specifying a new release date. The report also adds that three people are involved in the project.

The iPhone Air 2 was initially planned to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Fold next fall. With this change, Apple could now unveil three models next fall – the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Fold. Meanwhile, the base iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are expected to debut later, in spring 2027, suggesting that the iPhone Air 2 could arrive in fall 2027 instead. As all are speculations, we suggest you take them with a pinch of salt.
iPhone Air 2: What to Expect?
The iPhone Air 2 will feature a 6.5-inch display – the same size as its predecessor – along with 3D Face ID and a horizontal “runway” design. It is expected to retain the ultra-thin and lightweight profile like the iPhone Air. On the back, the device sports an iPhone Air-like pill-shaped camera module that houses two camera lenses along with an LED flash.
The next-gen iPhone Air may bring a dual rear camera setup, which will likely include a 48MP primary sensor and a 48MP ultrawide lens. Apart from this, nothing is known at this moment. We expect to get more details in the coming days.
