Epic Games has just confirmed a new round of Fortnite weapons buffs and nerfs following the release of the v38.10 update earlier today. Fortnite‘s Simpsons crossover mini-season is in full swing, and the latest update brings a wealth of new content to keep players hooked for the rest of the month.
Fortnite‘s v38.10 update has added a bevy of new gameplay features to its battle royale mode, including donut storms that add a fresh layer of chaos to the action, new weapons inspired by iconic Simpsons episodes, and new boss fights that bring beloved Simpsons characters to life. This latest Fortnite update has also added a few new skins to both the battle pass and the Fortnite Item Shop, including a Peely-ified Professor Frink and special ‘Reactor Waste’ versions of Homer, Marge, Ned, and Blinky Fishstick.
Fortnite V38.10 Update Nerfs and Buffs Some Popular Weapons
On November 11, just a few hours after the Fortnite v38.10 update went live, the official Fortnite Status X account detailed a list of buffs and nerfs targeting this mini-season’s loot pool. The following Fortnite weapons have been affected:
- Bart’s Cobalt Slingshot (Buff)
- Deodorant Applicator (Buff)
- Ranger Shotgun (Buff)
- Mr. Blasty (Nerf)
One of the biggest takeaways from the recent round of nerfs and buffs is that both Bart’s Cobalt Slingshot and the Deodorant Applicator are now back in Fortnite‘s Battle Royale mode and are seemingly here to stay following a brief stint in Fortnite Delulu and a weekend in BR. Both Fortnite weapons have also been buffed following player feedback from this past weekend, with Bart’s Cobalt Slingshot getting 20% faster projectiles, and the Deodorant Applicator getting +1 damage at close range. The classic Ranger Shotgun has also received a very welcome buff, gaining an extra 5 max damage for all rarities.
Unfortunately, one of the best weapons in Fortnite‘s Simpsons mini-season has just been nerfed. The incredibly powerful Mr. Blasty revolver has been given a wider spread. According to Epic Games, this was done to stop players from being able to hit opponents with the pistol from across the map. But while Mr. Blasty may not be as effective at long-range anymore, its damage values haven’t changed, which means it should still pack a serious punch during close-range encounters.
Along with the return of Bart’s Cobalt Slingshot and the Deodorant Applicator, the Fortnite v38.10 update has added two new Simpsons-themed weapons to the battle royale mode. The first is the Cartoon Chainsaw, which functions very similarly to the Chainsaw weapon that was present during last month’s Fortnitemares event. The second is the Five Gun, an absurd-looking weapon inspired by Moe’s makeshift firearm from the Simpsons season 9 episode ‘The Cartridge Family.’
