India’s PC market, encompassing desktops, notebooks, and workstations, experienced a 3.0% year-over-year (YoY) growth in the second quarter of 2025. This growth was marked by shipments reaching 3.5 million units, as reported by the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker. This period represents the eighth consecutive quarter of expansion.
The commercial PC segment saw a significant rise of 9.5% YoY in Q2 2025. This increase was largely driven by enterprise demand, which surged by 21.2% YoY during the quarter and 26.4% YoY in the first half of 2025.

PC Market Performance Across Categories
In Q2 2025, all PC categories showed YoY growth. Notebooks remained the leading category with a 3.0% YoY increase. Desktops had a slight rise of 0.2%, while workstations experienced a substantial growth of 37.0% YoY.
HP Inc. maintained its lead in the overall PC market with a share of 30.8% in Q2 and 29.9% in H1 of 2025. The company dominated both consumer and commercial segments, holding a strong position with a 35% market share in the commercial sector due to high enterprise demand from IT/ITES sectors.
Consumer Segment Challenges
The consumer segment faced challenges with a slight decline of 3.9% YoY in Q2 2025, mainly due to stock availability issues affecting vendor billings during this period.
Despite these challenges, Lenovo secured second place in the overall market with a share of 20.3% in Q2 and 19.6% in H1 of 2025. The company’s consumer segment grew by 9.8% YoY, fueled by gaming notebook popularity and strong etail channel demand.
AI Notebook Adoption
The adoption of AI notebooks continued to gain traction, with an impressive surge of 145.2% YoY in H1 of 2025. Basic AI notebooks led this segment, making up 88.1% of total AI notebook shipments during this time.
Acer Group ranked third with a market share of 14.8% in Q2 and slightly higher at 15.1% for H1 of 2025. Growth in their consumer segment was driven by new lower-priced models and increased presence in offline retail channels.
Vendor Performance Overview
Dell Technologies held fourth place with an overall market share of 11.3% in Q2 and increased to 13.3% for H1 of 2025.
Their commercial segment grew by 9.8% YoY due to strong enterprise orders and solid SMB sector demand; however, billing delays caused challenges in their consumer segment.
Asus captured fifth position with a market share of 7.7% in Q2 and slightly lower at 6.8% for H1 of the year.
Their consumer segment saw a notable growth rate of 12.8%, driven by demand for branded gaming notebooks while their commercial segment grew by an encouraging rate of around nearly eight percent year-over-year supported through increased channel efforts.
