The Motorola Edge 70 was recently launched in select global markets, featuring the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and a sleek design. Now, rumours suggest that Motorola is developing the Edge 70 Ultra, which could boast high-end specifications. The new model is expected to include a 1.5K OLED display and might be powered by the yet-to-be-released Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip.
Expected Features of Motorola Edge 70 Ultra
According to X user Anvin (@ZionsAnvin), the anticipated Motorola Edge 70 Ultra will feature an OLED screen with a resolution of 1.5K. The phone is also expected to incorporate the unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which Qualcomm plans to reveal later this month. This new device could serve as a successor to last year’s Motorola Edge 50 Ultra.

The Motorola Edge 70 Ultra is rumoured to include a periscope telephoto camera, maintaining the slim and lightweight design seen in the Edge 70. This would position it as a competitor against flagship models like Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and iPhone Air. The upcoming handset is likely to be a premium offering, potentially sitting above the current Edge 70 model.
Comparison with Previous Models
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra was introduced in India in June 2024 at Rs. 59,999. It features a 6.7-inch LTPS pOLED screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a resolution of 1.5K. Powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, it comes with 12GB RAM and offers up to 512GB storage capacity.
This previous model also includes a triple rear camera setup: a primary camera of 50 megapixels, an ultra-wide angle camera of another 50 megapixels, and a telephoto camera boasting 64 megapixels. Additionally, it supports various charging options such as 125W TurboPower charging, along with wireless charging capabilities at both 50W and reverse wireless charging at 10W.
Specifications of Motorola Edge Series
The recently launched Motorola Edge 70 features a display size of approximately 6.67 inches and maintains a thin profile at just under six millimetres thick. It houses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor alongside a silicon-carbon battery rated at around 4,800mAh capacity.
In terms of cameras, this model includes both rear and front-facing units each offering resolutions of about fifty megapixels. The forthcoming Ultra variant is anticipated to provide enhanced specifications compared to its predecessor.
As for other models within this series like Moto G57 Power or Moto G57 launched alongside them using Snapdragon’s latest six-generation chipsets; these devices continue expanding upon existing product lines while catering towards different consumer needs across varying price points globally.
The introduction of these new devices reflects ongoing efforts by manufacturers such as Motorola who strive towards delivering innovative solutions tailored specifically towards meeting diverse demands within today’s ever-evolving technological landscape worldwide.
