MSI has expanded its ‘Make in India’ initiative by starting local production of the Katana and Crosshair laptops, featuring NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics. This manufacturing is conducted at MSI’s Chennai facility in collaboration with Syrma SGS Technology Limited. This move underscores MSI’s commitment to India’s growing technology sector and aims to make advanced laptops more accessible to Indian consumers.
India has emerged as one of MSI’s rapidly expanding markets, driven by increasing demand from gamers, creators, and professionals. Following the successful domestic production of the Modern and Katana models, MSI is now extending its manufacturing efforts to include the updated Katana series and the flagship Crosshair range. This step reflects MSI’s confidence in India’s manufacturing capabilities.

MSI Katana Series
The Katana Series is designed for balanced performance in both gaming and productivity tasks. It is equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics that offer ray tracing and AI-based enhancements. The series features displays with refresh rates of 144Hz or higher, ensuring smooth and immersive visuals. Additionally, the Cooler Boost thermal system helps maintain efficiency during prolonged use.
MSI Crosshair Series
The Crosshair Series is tailored for competitive gaming performance, drawing inspiration from esports styling. Now manufactured locally in India, it combines RTX 50 Series graphics with Intel Core processors. The series boasts sharp response times and high refresh rates for fluid gameplay, supported by cooling systems that ensure system stability.
The pricing for these laptops is set at Rs. 95,990 for the MSI Katana Series and Rs. 1,89,990 as an introductory price for the MSI Crosshair Series. Both series are available for purchase on MSI’s official website.
Mr. James Sung, NB Sales Director of India at MSI, commented on this development: “India is at the heart of our global growth strategy and the incredible momentum we have seen here makes local manufacturing a natural progression. The inclusion of the Katana and Crosshair laptops with RTX 50 Series Graphics in our ‘Make in India’ portfolio demonstrates our dedication to delivering hi-tech innovation tailored for Indian consumers.”
He further added that these laptops bring cutting-edge graphics performance, gaming design, and durability while being manufactured in India. Mr. Sung expressed confidence that this initiative will not only enhance product accessibility but also significantly contribute to India’s journey as a global leader in electronics manufacturing.
