One of the great things about choice-based games is that the choices players make can actually have an impact on the story and also alter character relationships. These choices can give players a different ending than other players online. Towards the end of the final episode in Dispatch, players who are controlling Robert‘s every decision will get two choices: Spare or Kill. Here are the outcomes of these choices in Dispatch.
Should You Choose Spare or Kill in Dispatch Episode 8?
After giving Shroud the Astral Pulse, if you have either romanced Invisigal or have trust in her, she will take the bullet that is intended for Robert, giving him the chance to knock Shroud down. As Robert beats Shroud violently, players will have what seems like the most important decision of the game, either to Spare Shroud or Kill him.
Now the scene plays out in a great way, showing us the reflection of Robert’s face on the puddle of water as he looks down on Shroud. Firstly, the choice entirely depends on you, and you can go with any decision you want. Secondly, there is a different trophy/achievement for both options for players who are enthusiastic about collecting them all. As there are four save slots in the main menu, you can quit before this choice, save your game, to replay both options.
The choices do not massively change the final scene of the game, but there are slight differences. If you decide to kill Shroud, then during an interview with Chase, the reporter will ask about an SDN dispatcher killing Shroud. Here, Chase will defend you and not give out any information about the identity of Robert, but also say that Shroud deserved it. Afterwards, when talking to Blond Blazer, she will mention that Robert has been suspended and is pending investigation, but all of that is just a formality.
If you decide to spare Shroud, which might sound like the right thing to do to a lot of players, the cops will take Shroud away. The interview with Chase will change very slightly as the interviewer asks about the SDN dispatcher who captured Shroud. Apart from this, there aren’t many changes, and the episode ends all the same.
