It’s so compact that you can take off and land it right from the palm of your hand. Once in the air, the ½” sensor can capture 12MP still images and record videos at 4K 30Fps resolution.
DJI has outfitted the Neo with RockSteady and Horizon Balancing technologies to address its compact size, along with Level 4 wind resistance. These features work together to minimize image shake and adjust the horizon tilt within +/-45 degrees. The ultra-stabilized footage is further improved with shooting capabilities usually found in higher-end models.
Smart Tracking and DirectionTrack use AI algorithms to enable the Neo to execute basic tracking shots from either behind or in front of a subject. The addition of QuickShots enhances simple tracking with more intricate aerial maneuvers. In each mode, the Neo keeps the target centered in the frame while automatically following pre-programmed flight paths. Pilots can select from six different modes: Dronie, Circle, Rocket, Spotlight, Helix, and Boomerang. Controlling the Neo can be done through traditional methods, such as the DJI Fly app on your smartphone, or by using an optional RC-N3, RC Motion 3, or FPV Remote Controller 3. The voice control feature is a new innovation for DJI. Simply say “Hey Fly” to activate the Neo, and then use a series of voice commands via the DJI Fly app to maneuver the drone.
Since the Neo is designed for beginners, DJI has implemented several safety measures to protect both the drone and its surroundings as new users practice. The four spinning propellers are fully enclosed with protective guards, and the drone also boasts Level 4 wind resistance along with an automatic return-to-home feature that assists in bringing the drone back when necessary.
With the launch of the Neo, those who were once hesitant about drones now have a highly accessible and user-friendly choice from one of the most reputable and established brands in the industry.
