CES 2026 is underway, and Samsung Electronics has used the show to refresh its Windows laptop lineup. The new Galaxy Book6 series includes the Galaxy Book6 Ultra, Galaxy Book6 Pro, and the standard Galaxy Book6, all built around Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 3 processors.

CES 2026: Samsung Unveils New Galaxy Book6 Laptops

This isn’t a radical redesign year. Instead, Samsung is focusing on incremental changes across performance, battery life, displays, and on-device AI, while keeping the overall Galaxy Book identity intact.

Core Ultra Series 3 becomes the common base

All Galaxy Book6 models run on Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, which bring stronger CPU performance and a much more capable NPU for local AI tasks. Samsung is clearly leaning into the idea of AI features that work on the device itself, rather than relying entirely on cloud processing.

Depending on the model, the chips support up to 50 TOPS of NPU performance, which Samsung ties to everyday tasks like image editing, translation, search, and note summarization.

Galaxy Book6 Ultra targets heavier workloads

The Galaxy Book6 Ultra sits at the top of the lineup. Alongside the new Intel chips, it can be configured with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 or 5070 Laptop GPUs, making it the most performance-focused option in the series.

Samsung has also reworked the cooling system, adding larger vapor chambers and revised airflow to keep noise in check during sustained workloads. Battery life is another area Samsung is highlighting, with claims of all-day use and fast charging meant to fit into shorter breaks.

Displays and audio see steady upgrades

The Galaxy Book6 Ultra and Pro models now use Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with higher peak brightness and adaptive refresh rates that scale between 30Hz and 120Hz. Touch support is standard, and Samsung has added stronger anti-reflective coatings to improve visibility in brighter environments.

Audio has been adjusted, too. The Ultra model uses a six-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos, while the Pro models tweak speaker placement to improve clarity for calls and video playback.

Design changes are subtle, not dramatic

Visually, the Galaxy Book6 series sticks closely to earlier models. Samsung has shaved off some thickness by refining internal layouts, thinner fans, and redesigned hinges, but the overall look remains familiar.

The Galaxy Book6 Ultra now measures just over 15mm thick, while the 16-inch Galaxy Book6 Pro drops below 12mm. The centered logo, two-tone keyboard, and haptic touchpad remain part of the design language.

Galaxy AI ties into Samsung’s wider ecosystem

Galaxy AI features play a bigger role this year, especially when paired with other Samsung devices. Tools like AI Select, background removal, natural language search, and Note Assist are built into the experience.

Cross-device features like Multi Control, Storage Share, and Second Screen continue to let users move files, text, and workflows between Galaxy phones, tablets, and laptops with less friction. The stronger on-device AI hardware helps make these interactions feel faster and more consistent.

    Availability

Samsung says the Galaxy Book6 Ultra, Galaxy Book6 Pro, and Galaxy Book6 will roll out in select markets starting in late January 2026. An Enterprise Edition, aimed at managed IT environments, is planned for April.
