Artifacts greatly alter the base Risk of Rain 2 experience by providing a variety of game-changing effects. The Artifact of Command is likely the best one available, as it lets players choose the items they want to use when they pick up an item drop.
Getting the Artifact of Command is going to be very tricky if you’re going in blind. It’s locked behind a layered secret that can only be unlocked with the right know-how. If you want to start making insane builds for ROR 2 characters, here’s how you can get this artifact for yourself.
How To Get The Artifact Of Command In ROR 2
To unlock the Artifact of Command, you need to reach and complete a specific version of the hidden Bulwark’s Ambry stage. To get there, you need to reach either the Sky Meadows or Helminth Hatchery stages and look for a secret teleporter called the Compound Generator.
You can easily find these secret teleporters by using the Radar Scanner equipment and looking for the clustered question marks forming a grid pattern. In Sky Meadows, the teleporter is below the map, while in Helminth Hatchery, it’s somewhere up above. Getting to these locations might be difficult for some ROR 2 characters like Void Fiend, so make sure to bring some Hopoo Feathers, a Milky Chrysalis, or an Eccentric Vase for an easier time.
Once you find the teleporter, approach the round projectors on the floor. Interact with one of them, and a shape will appear. To get the Artifact of Command in Bulwark’s Ambry, you’ll need to make it so that the projectors have the following shapes:
- Top Row: All cubes
- Middle Row: All cubes
- Bottom Row: All pyramids
This code is relative to the position of the computer near the ground projectors. Stand in front of the computer, then input the code as mentioned.
After inputting the code, a big portal will appear on the main platform of the generator. Pass through it to enter the secret level.
ROR 2 Bulwark’s Ambry: Command
Once you arrive at Bulwark’s Ambry, you’ll need to collect yellow Artifact Keys that appear around the level. After picking a key up, head to the big ball in the middle of the arena and interact with it. This will wake the ball up, causing it to spit projectiles and spawn enemies.
The goal here is to keep inserting Artifact Keys into the giant sphere until its protective barrier disappears. Once the deed is done, you’ll be able to pick up the Artifact of Command by interacting with the large object in the middle of the stage.
Going through the portal in Bulwark’s Ambry will send you on your first loop, forfeiting your chance at
fighting Mithrix in
