The BMW i5 has decisively established itself as India’s leading luxury electric vehicle, while the MG Windsor EV rightfully claims the title of Electric Car of the Year. Additionally, the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 has emerged as the best electric two-wheeler at the NDTV Auto Awards held in Delhi today. This prestigious event brought together industry leaders, trailblazers, and automotive enthusiasts to celebrate the groundbreaking advancements that are reshaping the future of transportation.
Kiren Rijiju, the Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, attended the ceremony and underscored India’s growing significance in the global automotive landscape. He stated that India is poised to become a major hub for the automobile industry and emphasized the transformative potential of electric vehicles, declaring that “EVs are the future.”
The NDTV Auto Awards 2025 reaffirmed its status as the premier platform for automotive excellence, highlighting the brands and leaders propelling the industry forward through innovative breakthroughs and exceptional performance. The awards not only honored the finest vehicles and brands but also recognized the visionaries who are shaping the future of mobility in India.
In addition to the top electric vehicle awards, the Tata Punch was named Subcompact SUV of the Year, while the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV took home the Luxury SUV of the Year award. Other notable winners included the Mahindra Thar Roxx, which was named Car of the Year, and the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which received the prestigious Compact Car of the Year award.
