India Yamaha Motor (IYM) has officially unveiled its inaugural hybrid motorcycle, the 2025 ‘FZ-S Fi Hybrid’, with a price tag of INR 1,44,800 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). \
The motorcycle is powered by a 149cc Blue Core engine that complies with OBD-2B standards. It incorporates Yamaha’s Smart Motor Generator (SMG) and Stop & Start System (SSS), which facilitate quieter engine starts, battery-assisted acceleration, and enhanced fuel efficiency by automatically turning off the engine when idling and restarting it with a simple clutch action.
During the launch of this pioneering hybrid motorcycle, Mr. Itaru Otani, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group, remarked, “The FZ brand has been instrumental in Yamaha’s evolution in India, adapting with each generation to align with the evolving expectations and practical needs of our customers. To further improve rider convenience, the new ‘FZ-S Fi Hybrid’ features a 4.2-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster that connects seamlessly with smartphones through the Y-Connect app. It includes Turn-by-Turn (TBT) navigation linked to Google Maps, providing real-time directions, navigation indices, intersection details, and road names for a more convenient riding experience.
The handlebar position has been optimized for enhanced comfort during long journeys, and the switches on the handlebar have been repositioned for improved accessibility, even when wearing gloves. Additionally, the horn switch has been relocated to enhance comfort and usability.
The fuel tank now features an airplane-style fuel cap that remains attached during refuelling, further enhancing practicality. The new 2025 ‘FZ-S Fi Hybrid’ is being offered in two colours – Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Grey.
