Pune, India – March 30, 2025
Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd., a major player in India’s component manufacturing sector, has announced the acquisition of an 80 percent stake in Artifex Interior Systems. The goal is to capture a significant portion of the global market for interior systems and components.
Artifex, which had revenues of GBP 296 million in fiscal year 2024-2025, will join the Tata AutoComp family once this transaction is completed. The acquisition will be completed subject to standard closing conditions and all necessary approvals.
Arvind Goel, Vice Chairman of Tata AutoComp Systems, commenting on the acquisition, said, “Artifex’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and established customer relationships will strengthen our presence in critical markets, allowing us to provide unique solutions and foster long-term growth.”
Manoj Kolhatkar, MD and CEO of Tata AutoComp Systems, said, “Artifex’s technical expertise and cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities will strengthen our technological leadership and solidify our position in the premium automotive segment.”
The company, which has relationships with key original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as Jaguar Land Rover, BMW Mini, Bentley, INEOS, and Toyota in the passenger vehicle sector, particularly in Europe, expects this acquisition to allow it to meet the growing demand for the design, manufacturing, and integration of overhead systems, instrument panels, center consoles, door panels, and interior trims. This move is expected to give Tata AutoComp a competitive advantage in automotive component manufacturing by leveraging Artifex’s innovative interior systems and components.
Tata AutoComp hopes this acquisition will increase its presence in the European automotive industry and solidify its position in the Jaguar Land Rover vehicle supply chain.
