Bengaluru, 24th April 2025: Oben Electric, the maker of the Oben Rorr electric motorcycle, has introduced an extended warranty of 8 years or 80,000 kilometres for its Rorr EZ model, which is available for an additional fee of Rs 9,000 to both new and existing customers.
The warranty covers all battery-related issues, including repairs and replacements, and is expected to be a key factor for customers considering switching to electric vehicles, as it guarantees that the motorcycle’s top speed and acceleration will remain stable throughout the warranty period, explained Madhumita Agrawal, Founder & CEO of Oben Electric.
She also mentioned that the warranty plan is fully transferable, which boosts the resale value of the Rorr EZ motorcycle.
In discussing the extended warranty offer, Agrawal stated that the protection plan is based on Oben’s proprietary Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery technology, which the company claims can withstand temperatures up to 50% higher than Li-NMC batteries commonly used in the industry and is well-suited to India’s diverse climatic conditions.
The Rorr EZ motorcycle has a claimed range of 175 kilometres (IDC), accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.3 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 95 km/h for a starting price of 89,999 (ex-showroom).
