KOCHI: April 27th, 2025. BYD India achieved a remarkable milestone with 52 record deliveries of its newly launched Sealion 7 premium SUV, priced between Rs 48 and 54 lakhs, at its dealership, EVM BYD Kochi.

BYD’s Instagram account shared more information about the launch, writing, “A landmark moment as EVM Southcoast BYD entered the India Book of Records for delivering the highest number of premium EVs in a single day.”
The BYD Sealion 7 is fully imported into India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) model and marks the fourth BYD vehicle launched in the country, following the eMax 7, Atto 3, and Seal. Introduced in India around January of this year, the Sealion 7 is available in two variants: Premium and Performance.

The Premium variant features a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration, while the Performance variant is equipped with a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. Both variants utilize the same substantial 82.56 kWh battery pack, which offers ranges of 567 km and 542 km, respectively.

The Sealion 7 is a spacious SUV coupe measuring 4830mm in length, 1925mm in width, and 1620mm in height. The Sealion 7 is longer than a Fortuner but not as tall. The vehicle showcases BYD’s global ‘Ocean X’ design theme, characterized by sleek lines and an aerodynamic silhouette. Notable design features include full-LED headlights, 20-inch alloy wheels, twin spoilers, and motorized door handles.
It boasts a claimed NEDC range of 542 km for the base model and 567 km for the top-tier model.
The BYD Sealion 7 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in merely 4.5 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 215 km/h.
The all-wheel-drive Performance variant delivers an output of 530 PS and 690 Nm, with a claimed NEDC range of 542 km. Additionally, the Sealion 7 is equipped with 11 airbags. BYD provides the Sealion 7 in two configurations: the base variant features a single electric motor with a peak power of 308 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, while the performance variant is equipped with a dual-motor system that generates an impressive 523 bhp and 690 Nm of torque.
Overall features include a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen, and a coloured heads-up display (HUD).
The front seats are adjustable electronically and offer heating and ventilation. Additional features comprise a panoramic glass roof, a wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, and a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function, which is characteristic of modern electric vehicles.
