India, June 5, 2025: In honour of World Environment Day, India’s largest electric vehicle charging network, CHARGE ZONE®, has unveiled “Shwa”, a creative public art project that transforms EV supercharging stations into cultural icons.
Through expansive murals, the project seeks to unite creativity, community, and sustainability.
Working with both well-known and up-and-coming Indian artists, Shwa turns utilitarian charging stations into outdoor galleries. Each mural explores the idea of a sustainable India by incorporating regional aesthetics, local tales, and a message of hope for the climate.
Kartikey Hariyani, Founder & CEO of CHARGE ZONE®, stated, “With Shwa, we’re using EV charging stations to tell meaningful stories. They are gateways to the future of mobility.” “We plan to expand this experience to 10–12 additional locations within the next six months, but we are starting with three murals across our Supercharging stations. Our goal is to produce several hundred of these installations across the nation in the upcoming five to six years.

The project begins with murals painted by famous artist Rahul Kumawat in Karjan, Gujarat, and Suryapet, Telangana. Because travellers tend to spend more time at CHARGE ZONE®’s Supercharging station locations, these large-format artworks will be exclusively displayed there, enabling deeper engagement with the artwork and its message.
Shwa brings culture and creativity into the fast lane as India speeds up its transition to electric mobility, reminding us that the path to sustainability is as much about movement as it is about meaning.
