NEW DELHI, June 26, 2025. The apex auto retail body in India, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), will be formally included in the upcoming Bharat Mobility Show in 2027, which will be held in Delhi NCR from 4th to 7th February 2027.
The Auto Expo’s successor, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 edition, featured nearly all of the major automotive associations, such as SIAM, ACMA, ICEMA, NASSCOM, IESA, and ATMA but left out the ₹6.14 lakh crore auto retail industry.

The move comes after a high-level meeting between Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and a FADA delegation led by CEO Saharsh Damani, along with key office bearers Sai Giridhar and Garima Misra. The minister’s support clears the way for FADA to become a formal stakeholder in what will now be a biennial expo showcasing India’s entire mobility value chain.
Damani told EV Story, “FADA will be formally integrated into the Bharat Mobility Global Expo from the next edition onwards—rectifying a longstanding omission and underscoring our status as equal partners in India’s mobility narrative.”
Thanks to Minister Goyal’s intervention, that is expected to change in 2027. In addition to recognising the significance of India’s automobile retail industry, which supports over 19 million jobs and accounts for 2.3% of the country’s GDP, he also underlined the industry’s pivotal role in the larger MSME ecosystem.
“MSMEs are not just small businesses,” Goyal said during the meeting. “They’re the strength of the nation. The entire ecosystem around big industries comprises thousands of MSMEs. Without them, large enterprises cannot succeed.”
Regulatory, Policy Backing Also on the Table
Beyond expo inclusion, the FADA delegation pushed for a legislative framework to protect dealership interests and a streamlined regulatory landscape to ease business operations across states as part of the Retail Trade Protection Act and Ease of Doing Business challenges the sector is facing

Other delegation members stated that the Minister “welcomed our initiative and requested a detailed draft outlining stakeholder inputs for his team’s in-depth review of the Retail Protection Act.” The Minister also stated that a thorough analysis of the regulatory processes at the state and federal levels that affect auto retailers will be conducted as part of the Ease of Doing Business plan of Govt of India
According to Damani, the minister was “receptive” and pledged to keep working with the Commerce Ministry to resolve persistent obstacles.
Additionally, the inclusion coincides with a shift in India’s mobility industry towards sustainable and electric modes of transportation. According to analysts, EV adoption will require a stronger auto retail infrastructure, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets where dealers are crucial for customer education, maintenance, and trust-building.
FADA’s involvement will represent the entire value chain.
The Bharat Mobility Show 2027 edition will now emerge as India’s most comprehensive mobility platform, spanning manufacturing, technology, logistics, and now retail.
FADA’s participation ensures the event will reflect the full value chain, from R&D labs and assembly lines to showrooms and service bays.
“This engagement reaffirms FADA’s position as the unified voice of over 15,000 dealerships nationwide,” Damani said. “We look forward to helping shape the future of Indian mobility — not just from the factory gate but at the consumer front line.”
