Yacht Club Games has announced that Mina the Hollower will not arrive on Halloween as initially planned, as the game’s release has been delayed to an undetermined date. The developer added that the extra time will be utilized to give Mina the Hollower some extra balance adjustments and tuning before committing to a definitive release date.
Mina the Hollower is the next project by Yacht Club Games, the creators of the game-changing indie title Shovel Knight and its spin-offs. Unlike Shovel Knight, Mina the Hollower utilizes an isometric perspective similar to classic Zelda games. This perspective is combined with the popular Soulslike genre as the basis for Mina the Hollower‘s gameplay and difficulty. The game’s titular character, an anthropomorphic mouse named Mina, is tasked with exploring Tenebrous Isle and defeating hordes of horrific enemies. Mina the Hollower was initially revealed as a Kickstarter project in 2022 and raised over $1,400,000.
Mina the Hollower Is Delayed
Although Mina the Hollower was initially stated to launch on Halloween on multiple platforms, that will no longer be the case. Yacht Club Games confirmed that Mina the Hollower has been delayed from its October 31 release date, but reassured fans that the game’s development is close to being done. The announcement came over three weeks before Mina the Hollower was set to launch on multiple platforms. Yacht Club Games clarified that the delay was not a major one and that the extra time would be utilized to apply some finishing touches. The developer said that it would not announce another release date for Mina the Hollower until the game had been submitted to digital storefronts and asked fans for their patience.
Yacht Club Games stated that the last things that are being developed for Mina the Hollower include finalizing its audio and visual designs, tuning the game’s balancing, and implementing localizations in different languages. Additional rounds of game testing and bug fixing will also be conducted on all platforms that Mina the Hollower is stated to launch on, including current and last-gen platforms. A limited-time demo for Mina the Hollower was released on various platforms in June 2025, which gave prospective players a way to test out the game and provide feedback.
With indie titles like Hollow Knight: Silksong and Hades 2 proving successful, the delayed launch of Mina the Hollower could be beneficial for Yacht Club Games in the long run. It remains to be seen how much player feedback will be applied to Mina the Hollower once it is fully released.
