Samsung recently dropped some early hints about the Galaxy S26 lineup during its Q3 2025 earnings call, teasing major improvements in AI, performance, and camera technology.

Now, a fresh leak is filling in the hardware side of the story – pointing to bigger batteries, upgraded displays, and meaningful camera changes across the board.

Bigger Sensors Could Finally Fix Samsung’s Zoom Problem

For years, Samsung’s 3x telephoto lens has been a weak spot, especially compared to rivals like Vivo and Xiaomi. That could finally change with the Galaxy S26 lineup. According to the latest leak, all three models — S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra — will use a much larger 12MP 1/2.55-inch sensor for the 3x telephoto camera. That’s a big jump from the smaller 10MP sensors Samsung has relied on for multiple generations.

What this means in real-world terms is better light capture and more detail, especially in zoomed-in shots. The Ultra model might even take it further with a 50MP 3x telephoto sensor, though that hasn’t been confirmed yet. Still, even the base models getting this upgrade is a strong signal that Samsung wants to close the quality gap between the three phones.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Could Get a Bigger Battery Without Bulking Up

Another interesting change could come in the form of battery life. The Galaxy S26 Ultra may pack a 5,400mAh battery — up from 5,000mAh on the current Ultra. That might not sound like much, but for heavy users, every bit helps, especially when paired with newer, more efficient chipsets.

If Samsung manages to fit that larger battery without adding bulk, the Ultra could become a far more travel-friendly phone for people who rely on it throughout the day.

The leak also suggests that the Galaxy S26 could come with a 4,300mAh battery, while the S26+ might get a slightly larger 4,900mAh unit.

    QHD Displays Across the Board

One of the more surprising details from the leak is that Samsung might finally bring QHD resolution to all Galaxy S26 models — not just the Ultra. The base S26 could come with a 6.3-inch panel, the S26+ with a 6.7-inch, and the Ultra with a 6.9-inch display.

All of them are reportedly using Samsung’s newer M14 OLED technology, which should mean higher brightness, improved efficiency, and better color accuracy. This move could help make the standard and Plus models feel less “cut-down” compared to the Ultra, which has long been the only one to get the best screen specs.

Main and Ultrawide Cameras Also See a Boost

Camera upgrades won’t stop at the telephoto lens. The leak also suggests that both the S26 and S26+ will move to 50MP main and 50MP ultrawide cameras — up from the 12MP ultrawide sensors used before.

That could make a visible difference when shooting landscapes or group shots, with sharper details and better dynamic range.

    Exynos and Snapdragon Split Returns

Samsung will reportedly continue its dual-chip strategy, with some regions getting the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite while others get the Exynos 2600. Interestingly, even the Ultra might come in an Exynos variant in certain markets this time.

Earlier reports questioned the Exynos 2600’s performance, but newer benchmarks show it may not be as far behind Qualcomm’s offering as many feared. If Samsung delivers consistent optimization across both versions, this could be the year its in-house chips finally earn some respect.

A New “More Slim” Variant Might Join the Lineup

The leak also mentioned something unusual — a “Galaxy S26 More Slim” model. This device reportedly features a 6.6-inch QHD OLED display, dual 50MP cameras, and a smaller 4,300mAh battery. It’s said to focus on a thinner and lighter design while maintaining flagship-grade performance.

We have talked more about this phone here.
