HWEI has its Mate 70 Series with the introduction of the Mate 70 Air in China. This smartphone is part of the trend towards slim and lightweight premium devices. It measures just 6.6 mm thick and weighs 206 g, featuring a celestial-inspired design with gold thread and brocade silk, along with a luminous star-ring effect.

The Mate 70 Air boasts impressive durability features. It includes Kunlun Glass, which offers ten times more drop resistance, and ultra-durable brocade fiber that provides five times more impact resistance. The phone is also IP68 dust and water-resistant, with additional IP69 protection.

Display and Camera Features

The device comes with a 7-inch FHD+ OLED display that supports 1.07 billion colours, P3 wide gamut, and has a peak brightness of 4000 nits. It also features Vivid Audio & HDR certification, 2160 Hz PWM dimming, and a touch sampling rate of 300 Hz.

The rear camera system includes a 50 MP main sensor with OIS, a 12 MP RYYB telephoto lens with OIS, an 8 MP ultra-wide macro lens, and a 1.5 MP multispectral Red Maple TrueColor sensor. The front camera is a 10.7 MP ultra-wide lens.

The Mate 70 Air is powered by either the Kirin 9020B processor for the 12 GB RAM variant or the Kirin 9020A for the 16 GB RAM model. Storage options include 256 GB or 512 GB without memory card support.

A robust 6500 mAh silicon-carbon battery powers the device, supporting fast charging with a wired SuperCharge of up to 66 W. The phone’s thermal efficiency is improved by integrating a VC heat dissipation structure into the mid-frame.

Operating System and Connectivity

Running on HarmonyOS 5.1, the phone offers features like AI Air Transfer, AI noise cancellation, Tap-to-Share, AI face-swap detection, and stylus support for annotation and extraction tasks.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7+, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB Type-C port, satellite messaging via BeiDou, GPS/Beidou/GLONASS/Galileo/QZSS/NavIC systems.

The HUAWEI Mate 70 Air is available in three colour variants: Gold Thread & Silver Brocade, Feather Robe White, and Radiant Gold Black.
