Apple is reportedly preparing a major revamp of its MacBook Pro lineup, which could include OLED displays, touch support, and a sleeker overall design. According to a Bloomberg report, the redesign will be exclusive to the high-end M6 Pro and M6 Max models, while the standard MacBook Pro is expected to retain its existing design and continue using a mini-LED display. Here’s what the new report suggests:
Apple Reportedly Bringing OLED Displays to M6 Pro and M6 Max MacBook Models
According to Mark Gurman’s latest report, the next-generation MacBook Pro redesign featuring OLED displays will be exclusive to the high-end M6 Pro and M6 Max variants. The report suggests that Apple is working on its first major MacBook Pro overhaul since the 2021 models. The upcoming versions are expected to launch between late 2026 and early 2027, featuring an all-new OLED display with touch support.

The laptops are also rumored to sport a thinner and lighter chassis. Additionally, Gurman noted that Apple may replace the existing display notch with a Dynamic Island-style cutout. Furthermore, the company is reportedly exploring the possibility of adding built-in 5G connectivity to future MacBook Pro models.
Apple currently offers three MacBook Pro models – a base 14-inch variant powered by the M5 chip, a higher-end 14-inch model featuring the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips, and a 16-inch version equipped with the same high-performance processors. Apart from performance differences, the lower-end and higher-end 14-inch models share a similar design. In India, the M5 MacBook Pro starts at ₹1,69,900 for the base configuration.
Incorporating OLED technology into the upcoming MacBook Pros will represent a significant step forward for Apple. By offering improved display quality and potential energy savings, these new models are likely to appeal to both existing users and those considering switching from other brands.
