This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.
2025 was an absolutely massive year for One Piece overall, with the manga finally covering the Elbaf arc in great detail, and the anime giving the fans more Egghead content. While the manga is most likely to continue into 2026 in the land of the Giants, the anime will see the end of the Egghead arc here, officially. The One Piece anime is at the ending phase of the Egghead arc at the moment, with Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates preparing for their escape from the island and escaping the power of the Five Elders.
However, that certainly isn’t going to be easy. The Government hopes to erase Nika from history on Egghead, but little do they know that an even bigger threat is coming their way on Egghead. With Luffy already fighting at the peak of his powers with Gear 5 by turning into the Sun God Nika, it appears that the new Nika is about to make their debut in the story, and that’s none other than Jewelry Bonney. With her immense powers of the Toshi Toshi no Mi, Bonney will be able to turn into Nika and fight alongside him on Egghead.
Jewelry Bonney Is The New Nika Of One Piece
The concept of Sun God Nika was properly introduced to the fans in the Wano Country Arc of One Piece, and it is where Luffy ended up awakening his powers. In the fight against Kaido, Luffy awakened his Devil Fruit and was able to access the powers of Nika for the first time.
That’s more like it! I want a future where I can be totally free. — Jewelry Bonney, One Piece
Since then, he’s used this power on multiple occasions, and he’s now one of the strongest in the world. But, Luffy isn’t the only one who can access the power of Nika. Jewelry Bonney can use it as well, and she’s officially the second Nika after him in the current era, thanks to her Devil Fruit.
With the power of the Toshi Toshi no Mi, Jewelry Bonney can access any future that she thinks is possible and make it a reality. If Bonney thinks Nika is real, then she can bring forth a future where she is Nika and can access that power. Given that Bonney has now seen the power of Nika with her own eyes in the One Piece anime, it is clear that she can access Nika’s powers as well. On November 30, One Piece Episode 1151 will officially air, and it’ll show the fans the true power of Bonney’s Nika form as she transforms alongside Luffy to fight with him.
Bonney Can Now Access Gear 5 As A Temporary Power-Up
Bonney’s Devil Fruit has always been incredible, but its powers were shown on a new level in the Egghead arc. With her powers, she can always access Gear 5 now, although only temporarily, and she can use the power of liberation just like Luffy. Bonney is the new Nika of the One Piece world, and crazy as that may be, there are now two Sun Gods, with one of them being only a temporary one.
I gave you that power, Bonney. It was an experiment to see if an infant incapable of eating a Devil Fruit could be given a power with an extract. — Saturn, One Piece
Bonney’s Devil Fruit Holds Great Potential
Bonney can also gain access to just about any other God of the One Piece world if she knows they exist and believes strongly in their power. She can also access the abilities of any other Devil Fruits, or any specific race either. Bonney’s Devil Fruit is, by far, the most versatile one in the world of One Piece, and that’s something that the fans need to keep in mind.
Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece will be on break next week. One Piece Chapter 1166 will be out in two weeks. The official release date of One Piece Chapter 1166 is November 23, 2025. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
