Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the biggest manga series in the whole world. The original Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended in 2024, but despite that, the story is now continuing, 68 years later, with a sequel called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege Akutami Kills Off Two Major JJK Characters In The Sequel
JJK just killed off two major characters, and fans are shocked.
With so much time having passed, many interesting couples have formed and been confirmed by the author, such as Yuta and Maki. Gege has also hinted at some others, such as Megumi and Hana, but at the same time, he has also destroyed a very popular fan ship, that of Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki.
While not explicitly stated, it’s quite obvious that Nobara and Yuji never got together. If anything, it seems that the two have instead drifted apart. Nobara seems to not have ended up with anyone, while Yuji’s love life is still up in the air.
Gege Shows Yuji and Nobara Never Became A Couple In Jujutsu Kaisen
The focus of Jujutsu Kaisen has never really been romance. The series is heavily battle-focused, and there’s little time for the author to focus on the rest. However, this doesn’t mean romance is completely absent from the story. For example, Gege has confirmed that Yuta and Maki got married, even though they were never a couple in the original series. Their love was actually so intense that Yuta died from heartbreak after losing Maki.
This was definitely touching and had fans hoping Gege would confirm more couples. While no other couples have officially been confirmed yet, it has become apparent that the popular Yuji and Nobara ship has sunk.

In the latest Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo chapter, fans got to see Nobara again. As the search for Yuji continues, she was asked about his whereabouts. Nobara reveals that she hasn’t seen him since Hana’s funeral, and she referred to him in a formal way as Itadori, while she referred to Hana by her first name a lot more amicably.
This seems to point to Nobara and Yuji having grown very distant, one way or the other. Furthermore, if the two had ended up together, Yuji would have at least waited for her death before vanishing.
Nobara Seems To Be Single Even In Her 80s
So far in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, no official statement has been made concerning Nobara’s love life. From what fans have seen of her, she seems to be living alone in wealth.

It’s definitely possible that Nobara got married and lost her partner to age, but whether that’s true or not remains to be seen. In the original JJK series, there was not really any romantic partner for Nobara, so it’s hard to say what exactly happened to her after the events of Shinjuku. All the other couples, such as Yuta and Maki, or the hinted ones, such as Megumi and Hana, got some focus. It’s possible Nobara’s partner was an irrelevant character.
Yuji’s Romantic Life Remains A Mystery In Jujutsu Kaisen
Just like Nobara, fans don’t know what happened with Yuji’s love life. After all, for Yuji, things are a bit more complicated. It has been confirmed that Yuji cannot age anymore, so that alone could have pushed him away from romance due to the fear of losing the one he loves to age.
At present, Yuji Itadori has two cursed techniques. Integration of Death Paintings 4 to 9 engraved Blood Manipulation on him. However, Gege did set up a romantic partner for him in JJK’s one-shot chapter. In that one shot, Gege clearly set up romantic tension between Yuji and Ozawa. It’s definitely possible that the two eventually got together, and maybe even had kids at some point. Ozawa would likely be dead by now if that’s the case, and this could be a major factor in Yuji vanishing.
