Samsung’s mid-range phones usually do well on consistency, but camera hardware has often been a weak spot compared to rivals in the same price bracket. That might change with the next generation.
According to a report by Smartprix, leaked software code suggests that the upcoming Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 could launch with noticeably upgraded camera sensors, pointing to a shift in Samsung’s A-series camera strategy.
A Bigger Sensor Could Be The Real Upgrade
The report claims both the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 will use a new 50-megapixel primary camera, paired with a larger 1/1.56-inch sensor. Depending on the market, this could be either Sony’s IMX906 or Samsung’s own ISOCELL S5KGNJ sensor.
That sensor size is a step up from what Samsung has used in recent A-series models. In practical terms, a larger sensor usually means better light intake, which can improve low-light shots, dynamic range, and overall image clarity. This kind of upgrade tends to matter more in daily use than small bumps in megapixel count.
Galaxy A57 Gets The More Complete Camera Setup
While the main camera may be shared, the Galaxy A57 is expected to sit higher in the lineup thanks to its secondary cameras. As per the leak, the phone could feature a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera, along with a 5-megapixel macro sensor. For selfies, Samsung is reportedly planning a 12-megapixel front camera.
Galaxy A37 Keeps Costs In Check
The Galaxy A37 is said to take a more conservative approach beyond the main sensor. It’s expected to use an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, paired with the same 5-megapixel macro sensor. The front camera is also tipped to be a 12-megapixel unit, but sourced from a different supplier.
