Unsurprisingly, Zhao’s best-in-slot W-Engine is her signature weapon, Half-Sugar Bunny. It continuously increases her Energy Regen while buffing the whole team’s ATK% and HP%. Moreover, whenever Zhao activates or extends an Ether Veil, she will grant the team an additional 30% Crit DMG. Those kinds of buffs further establish her as a universal support in ZZZ.

For a Defense Agent with all those supportive utilities, no weapon can operate at the same level as Half-Sugar Bunny. However, Tusks of Fury has consistent DMG and Daze buffs that work well with Zhao’s supportive abilities. You can use that W-Engine if you have it, or else it’s not worth pulling it for Zhao only.

Since Zhao needs 27000 HP to buff the team’s DMG by 40%, W-Engines like Original Transmorpher are good for her. The A-Rank W-Engine grants her HP from its substat alongside more HP from its passive. It’s a good option when Zhao is missing some HP to maximize her DMG buff.

Use Spring Embrace as a last resort if all other W-Engines are taken or unavailable. Zhao only benefits from its Energy Regen buff, which she can pass on to the next Agent when she leaves the field. It’s not an impressive bonus, but it can be useful in certain situations.

Building Zhao with 40% Energy Regen helps her function better as a support in Zenless Zone Zero. More Energy lets her use her EX Special Attack more often, which results in activating more Ether Veil.

The frequent use of EX Special Attack makes Zhao a solid pick in all of Ye Shunguang’s teams in Zenless Zone Zero.

Finally, since Zhao needs HP to raise her Additional Ability’s DMG buff, the 2pc Yunkui Tales slightly increases her HP and helps her get one step closer to her 27000 target.

4pc Astral Voice can work for Zhao, but she will need more field time, which may take away from the main DPS like Ye Shunguang in ZZZ. Nevertheless, this Drive Disc set is viable for players who are comfortable switching characters during animations, as it helps save precious DPS in timed content.
