Target has reportedly broken the street day for an upcoming LEGO set depicting a Golden Retriever puppy. The adorable kit was previously rumored for a February 2026 release but has not yet been officially announced by LEGO.
LEGO products have long lead times, which often results in product information being distributed widely ahead of release. Combined with a massive and fragmented supply chain, this makes LEGO leaks relatively common, as many individuals have advance knowledge of upcoming sets. Retailers breaking street dates is much rarer, but not unprecedented. In the latest example, one Target location in Utah has seemingly put a cute puppy set on sale early.
40 New 2026 LEGO Sets Detailed in Massive Leak
A massive new leak includes names, set numbers, and other details about 40 LEGO sets planned to release over the course of 2026.
Target Leaks Previously Rumored LEGO Icons Puppy Set
The set in question was spotted by Reddit user Colorful_nell, who shared a snapshot of the unannounced kit populating a shelf of one Target location on January 16. The image aligns with previously leaked details about the upcoming set, including its official name and set number. Notably, the leaked box labels 11384 Golden Retriever Puppy as part of the ever-growing LEGO Icons theme, which focuses on complex builds designed for adult fans. An 18+ age rating is clearly seen on the bottom of the package photographed by Colorful_nell.
LEGO Golden Retriever Puppy Set Leaked Details
- Theme: LEGO Icons
- Set: Golden Retriever Puppy
- Set no.: 11384
- Pieces: 2,102
- Price: $139.99
- Release date: February 1, 2026
- Minifigures: 0
- Age Rating: 18+
The only discrepancy between the newly spotted product box and previously leaked details about the upcoming LEGO set concerns its piece count. Late 2025 reports indicated that 11384 Golden Retriever Puppy would include 2,098 pieces, but the packaging spotted by Colorful_nell lists 2,102. The box is labeled with a $139.99 retail price, consistent with the figure leaked last November. Colorful_nell did not attempt to purchase the set, so it’s unclear whether Target officially broke the street date or merely stocked the kit prematurely. In some cases, retailers mistakenly place items on shelves early, but their inventory systems prevent the sale at checkout, correctly flagging the product as not yet available.
LEGO Animal Sets Are Surprisingly Scarce Right Now
11384 Golden Retriever Puppy is expected to be officially released on February 1, according to prior leaks. Its arrival is poised to bolster LEGO’s selection of animal-themed sets, which is uncharacteristically scarce right now. As of early 2026, LEGO Icons has only two animal sets: 10366 Tropical Aquarium and 10331 Kingfisher Bird, priced at $479.99 and $49.99, respectively. However, neither of them can actually be purchased directly from LEGO right now; Tropical Aquarium is listed as temporarily out of stock, whereas Kingfisher Bird is only available on backorder, with LEGO estimating new orders will ship in approximately 60 days, so mid-March 2026.
Within LEGO’s current animal-themed lineup, there’s also 21349 Tuxedo Cat from the LEGO Ideas theme, priced at $99.99. Moreover, the Danish company offers 31217 The Fauna Collection – Tiger, a $64.99 frameless piece of animal artwork featuring two display options, both designed as striking home decor. The set that most closely resembles the leaked Golden Retriever Puppy is 43269 101 Dalmatians Puppy. Released in June 2025, it is currently available for $149.99. Despite its higher price, it contains fewer pieces—1,722 compared to the Golden Retriever’s 2,102. The weaker value is likely due to the Dalmatian being a licensed Disney set, as licensed LEGO products typically retail at a premium.
While animal-themed LEGO sets aren’t terribly abundant right now, 11384 Golden Retriever Puppy will not be the first such offering to debut in 2026. That title goes to 21365 Love Birds, a romantic LEGO Ideas set that hit the market on January 1, priced at $49.99.
