Google has officially released the first public beta of Android 17, introducing significant enhancements to camera and media capabilities, new tools for optimising connectivity, and expanded profiles for companion devices.

Google also highlighted a fundamental shift in how new releases are released to the developer community, moving from the traditional Developer Preview model to the Android Canary program. Now, at least in the beta version for Pixel devices. So, if you are a Pixel user and want to be among the first to experience the next major version of Android, you are at the right place. Here, we have listed the full list of Pixel devices eligible for Android 17 Beta 1 and how to install it.

How to Install on Pixel Phone?

    • First, visit the Android Beta Program website.
    • Sign in with your Google account.
    • Select your eligible Pixel device and accept the terms and conditions to opt into the program.
    • Once enrolled, check if an update is available by navigating to Settings > System > System update on your phone.
    • You can then download Android 17 Beta 1 when the update appears.

One can also opt out of the program at any time to return to the stable public version of Android. However, it is worth noting that opting out will erase all user data on the device. Devices enrolled in the program may also receive up to four automatic updates per month.

Moreover, beta versions are meant for testing, so they often include bugs. So, if your Pixel phone is your daily driver, it’s safer to wait for the stable release. Install beta only if you’re developers or want to experinece new features.
