Power Rangers is one of the most popular television-based superhero shows in history. The series typically follows a group of teenagers with access to the Morphin Grid, which provides them with indescribable power. Yet, not every Ranger is completely reliant on the Morphin Grid to get the job done. Many of the most influential Rangers in history have done just as much unmorphed.
Given the Power Rangers are a group of protectors first, they are typically capable martial artists. Several notable Rangers, like RJ, are just as skilled without their morpher as they are with it. Other powerful Rangers, like the incredible Tommy Oliver, have even kicked a dinosaur in the face without access to a morpher. At the end of the day, many Rangers are just as capable without their powers as they are with access to the morphin grid.

Sydney “Syd” Drew Can Transform Her Body At Will to Make Herself Stronger
Power Rangers: SPD
On the surface, Sydney “Syd” Drew seems completely superficial. She is initially more concerned with her looks than the safety of her other teammates. Thankfully, she learns to be a team player and turns into one of the most powerful S.P.D. Rangers in history. Her parents were exposed to mysterious radiation before her birth, which caused her to be born with interesting powers.
Power Rangers: 10 Best Green Rangers, Ranked
Green may have joined the Power Rangers as an extra member to the group, but quickly became one of the teams’ core colors.
Syd can alter her molecular structure to any element she touches. Her most used attack, “fist of iron”, comes from Syd touching a piece of iron and hardening her fist into the same material. Yet, she could easily do the same with a stronger material such as diamond, which she has done upon occasion. She might not seem like one of the strongest Rangers, at first glance, but she would defeat almost any regular Ranger in a fist fight rather easily.

Robert James or “RJ” Is a Competent and Confident Martial Artist
Power Rangers: Jungle Fury
“RJ” is the mentor of the Jungle Fury Rangers and the series’ Purple Ranger. On top of having a near mastery of his animal spirit, he is a veritable master of the Pai Zhuq martial arts and regularly schools the other three rangers. He might seem like a complete pushover, but that is a large part of his overall battle strategy. He might have the wolf fighting spirit, but that doesn’t mean he is a lone wolf all the time.
Power Rangers: 8 Strongest Purple Rangers, Ranked
There aren’t too many Purple Power Rangers in the franchise but these are the strongest of the bunch.
On top of being a master martial artist, RJ also has brains to match his brawn. He creates most of the gear the team uses to become Rangers and is the entire reason they are able to do so in the first place. RJ is also one of the few Rangers with an additional form not relegated to the morphing grid. When he first loses control of his wolf animal spirit, he takes a wherewolf-like form with some truly fearsome powers.

Merrick Baliton Is actually a 3000-Year-Old Warrior, Despite His Appearance
Power Rangers: Wild Force
Merrick Baliton might seem in his late 30s, but he is actually over 3,000 years old. He might have been trapped in another body, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t retain several millenniums of combat experience. He regularly returns when the Power Rangers need his help and is one of the most active sixth rangers in the series.
On top of incredible marksmanship, Merrick is one of the best supporting characters within the entire series. He is also the first Ranger in the series to sport facial hair. At the end of the day, his age and wisdom provide him with a level of experience simply not afforded any other Silver Power Rangers within the entire franchise.

Trent Fernandez Can Teleport, Camouflage, and Has Access to Super Speed
Power Rangers: Dino Thunder
Trent Fernandez is one of the most impressive sixth Rangers in the entire series, simply because his powers aren’t tied to a morpher. Like the other Dino Thunder Rangers, he can access his powers regardless of whether he’s morphed or not. Yet, in Fernandez’s case, this means that he has a plethora of incredible powers without even accessing the morphin’ grid.
In his base form, Trent has access to teleportation, camouflage, and super speed. This fact alone would defeat several of the most powerful Power Rangers, but his abilities initially come at a terrible price. He might be one of the strongest unmorphed Rangers, but he risks turning evil at any point.

Ravi Shaw Has Been Enhanced by Gorilla DNA
Power Rangers: Beast Morphers
Ravi Shaw is one of the strongest modern Power Rangers, although that isn’t entirely his doing. Like the rest of the Beast Morphers Rangers, Shaw has been enhanced by animal DNA. Shaw’s creature of choice just so happens to be a gorilla, which provides him with some truly impressive power and prowess.
Gorillas regularly lift up to 1,800 pounds, implying that Shaw can do the same. If that’s the case, Shaw has some of the most impressive raw strength out of the Power Rangers in existence. He might not get many opportunities to demonstrate his great ape strength, but when he does, it is as impressive as the power suggests.

Dillon’s Cybernetic Enhancements Allow Him to Lift Cars
Power Rangers: RPM
Since Power Rangers RPM is set within a post-apocalyptic world, many of the characters have certain enhancements to help them in their day-to-day life. A perfect example of this is the RPM Black Power Ranger, Dillon. He has cybernetic enhancements within his arm which have even allowed him to lift a car.
Given that cars weigh an average of around 4,000 pounds, that makes Dillon an absolute power house. It’s a relative miracle he doesn’t kill his enemies in battle, and likely has to hold back while fighting them. This feat alone makes Dillon one of the most underrated of the Rangers, and also implies that there could be an upper limit to the Power Ranger’s strength. That said, Dillon isn’t technically the strongest Power Ranger.

Katie Walker Has Literal Super Strength
Power Rangers: Time Force
Katie Walker is easily the physically strongest Power Ranger in the history of the franchise. She regularly picks up large pieces of debris with ease, and has even lifted machinery heavier than several cars. There simply isn’t a contest when it comes to the strongest Ranger, and Katie has even proved that within the series.
Walker famously battled Danny the Wild Force Black Power Ranger in an arm wrestle and defeated him rather quickly. Since he’s already supposed to be one of the strongest Rangers, the fact that Walker could defeat him so easily gives credit to her strength. Power isn’t everything, but there aren’t many Power Rangers with more strength than Katie Walker.

Jason Lee Scott Is One of the Best Martial Artists in the Series
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
When Jason Lee Scott first begins Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, he is already an expert Martial Artist. He teaches a class at the local rec center, and regularly works for the betterment of others. Scott refuses to give up, which is one of his defining traits within the series. He leads the Mighty Morphin squad before returning in Zeo as the Gold Ranger.
10 Strongest Power Rangers Who Use Swords, Ranked
Many Power Rangers have used swords throughout their notable careers, but some are far more skilled with the blade than others.
Scott performs equally well in both series, and is one of the greatest Rangers of all time. He is not only good enough to be considered a teacher, but he has gone down as one of the most influential figures of all time. As far as the Red Rangers are concerned, he might not be the greatest, but he is the most iconic.
2
Anubis Cruger Defeats S.P.D’s Big Bad, While Unmorphed
Power Rangers: S.P.D.
Anubis Cruger is an alien, and his physiology already provides a level of strength unfamiliar to the other Rangers. He might appear canine-like, but he is actually a Sirian, which means he has even survived wounds which other Rangers would surely perish from. Cruger also has supersonic hearing, which isn’t always useful but has come in handy from time to time.
Power Rangers: 10 Best Black Rangers, Ranked
The Black Rangers typically serve as the Red Rangers’ second-in-command and are often one of the most popular rangers of any given series.
Cruger is the S.P.D. Shadow Ranger and also commander of the S.P.D. earth base, for a reason. He is one of the most comparable swordsmen in the series, and regularly defeats even the most powerful of opponents unmorphed. Cruger might make many of his most important appearances in the Shadow Ranger suit, but he is just as capable without it.
1
Tommy Oliver Has Kicked a Literal Dinosaur in the Face
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Tommy Oliver is the most powerful Power Ranger within the entire series. He is the longest serving Ranger in the entire franchise, and regularly faces evils more powerful than himself. He has led more Power Rangers’ teams than any other Ranger, and is even considered the de facto leader among the Red Rangers in the Forever Red special.
Oliver might not participate in as many battles as he used to by the Dino Thunder-era, but he proves that he is still a force to be reckoned with. Tommy kicks a literal Tyrannosaurus Rex, or an assimilation of one, in the face in the first episode of the series. He does so unmorphed and that’s simply a power no other Ranger can compete with.
