The Void Century is one of the most mysterious parts of the history of the One Piece world, set around 900 to 800 years ago. This century saw a massive kingdom flourish, with many enemies who eventually banded together to destroy it. A great war erupted during this time period, and the victors of which ended up creating the World Government.
It has been heavily implied that Devil Fruits were created during the Void Century, and as such, multiple Devil Fruit users have existed in this time period of the One Piece world. In the final saga, the series has already introduced quite a few powerful Devil Fruit users who existed during the 100 Year Void.
7 One Piece Arcs That Rival Marineford, Ranked
Marinford is a legendary arc, but there are other One Piece arcs that can rival it.
Toki
- Devil Fruit: Toki Toki no Mi
Toki is the first Devil Fruit user from the Void Century that Oda revealed to the fans. She was born around 800 years ago and utilized the power of her Devil Fruit to jump further into time. With each leap, she got closer to the current timeline and eventually reached the current Wano, where she married Oden and had Momonosuke and Hiyori with him.
Toki’s Devil Fruit was certainly very powerful, as it allowed her to skip through time. Given that she was from the Amatsuki family, it makes perfect sense to see her play a significant role in not just the liberation of Wano but the overarching battle against the World Government. Both her Devil Fruit and her character will receive more exposition in the story later down the line.

Ragnir
- Devil Fruit: Ratatoskr Power
Ragnir technically never ate a Devil Fruit but exhibits the powers of one through a unique process. It is unknown when exactly Ragnir was given special powers, but during the Void Century, it certainly existed. According to the lore of Elbaf, Ragnir was the hammer wielded by the God of War of the country. In the battle against the Sun God Nika, the God of War wielded the power of Ragnir. Eventually, the God of War died, and Ragnir was left behind. The companion of the God of War, known to be a squirrel called Ratatoskr, resided inside Ragnir, essentially turning it into a sort of Devil Fruit user. The concept is the same, but the only difference is that Ragnir did not eat a fruit to gain the powers. Instead, the soul directly resided inside the hammer.
From that day onwards to the present timeline, Ragnir has defended the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf, waiting for the rightful user. Regardless of when the God of War existed, Ragnir has stood guard for years, which means that even during the Void Century, Ragnir was present. This also means that Ragnir knows all the secrets about the Void Century and will go on to play a massive role in the story moving forward. Right now, Ragnir partners with Loki and is aiding him in the battle against Imu in Elbaf.
Joy Boy
- Devil Fruit: Hito Hito no Mi: Model: Nika
Joy Boy is yet another Devil Fruit user that Oda has confirmed to exist in the Void Century. Joy Boy possessed the powers of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. At one point, it was contentious whether Joy Boy had a Devil Fruit power or not, but given that it has been confirmed that the real Sun God Nika existed thousands of years ago, it has now been confirmed that Joy Boy was indeed a Devil Fruit user.
Furthermore, the fact that Devil Fruits existed during the Void Century confirms that he had a Devil Fruit ability, just like Luffy. Joy Boy could utilize the power of Gear 5 in combat. On top of that, he also possessed tremendously powerful Haki. Combining the two, one can conclude that he was one of the strongest characters in the entire world. More information about Joy Boy will be revealed later down the line, especially when Oda delves into the Void Century flashback.
Five Elders
- Devik Fruits: Unknown Yokai Powers
The Five Elders are legendary figures who serve under Imu and possess tremendous strength. Up until recently, it was unknown if they possessed any powers or not, but the Egghead arc of One Piece put it beyond any doubt that they are monstrously powerful.
Technically, the Five Elders possess Yokai abilities, which have been granted to them through Imu’s Abyssal contract. The details behind their powers remain unknown, but it goes without saying that they exhibit the same powers as a Devil Fruit user.
One Piece: 39 Strongest Characters In The Series
These are the strongest characters to sail the seas of the One Piece world.
All Elders have unique abilities similar to Mythical Zoan creatures, and they are monstrously powerful. As to how they existed during the Void Century, it is quite clear to see that they have been alive for hundreds of years. For instance, even over two hundred years ago, Saint Saturn was seen in Marijoa, just as old as he is today. Saturn is hundreds of years old, and their deep information about Nika and all the other Gods is a confirmation that they were alive 800 years ago as well. They have been serving Imu all this while, and will continue to do so in the final saga for as long as it takes.
Ope Ope no Mi User
When the Ope Ope no Mi was first introduced, it was revealed that its special ability, the Perennial Youth Surgery, grants immortality to someone at the expense of the life of the user. It was even stated that long ago, a doctor is said to have performed this surgery, making someone immortal at the cost of their life. However, until recently, it wasn’t clear as to who this person was and on whom the surgery was performed.
One Piece’s final saga sheds some more light on this. While the identity of the doctor who performed this surgery has not been revealed, it has now been strongly suggested by the likes of Ivankov and Dragon that this doctor existed during the Void Century and performed the immortality surgery on none other than Saint Imu Nerona, who has stayed alive ever since. More information about this individual will surely be given to the fans in the final saga.
Imu
- Devil Fruit: Unnamed Mythical Zoan Fruit
The sovereign of the world, Imu has been alive since the Void Century and continues to rule the world to this day. While the full extent of their Devil Fruit powers isn’t exactly clear yet, it is easy to see that Imu possesses some demonic ability that allows them to transform into a unique creature, suggesting Mythical Zoan usage. Imu even sports giant wings and a pointy tail with which they skewer the likes of Sabo and Cobra.
Imu’s ability allows them to turn anyone into their demonic slaves. They also hold a grimoire of sorts, with which they can cast multiple spells. On top of that, Imu can also bestow the power of Covenants to their followers, granting them powers such as superhuman strength as well as immortality at the cost of becoming a vessel for them. The vast majority of Imu’s abilities still remain unexplained, but Oda will surely shed more light on them moving forward.
