Despite Bethesda’s RPG being borderline ancient, the game is still widely popular, in large part due to the absurdly active modding community that still delivers exciting new ideas every week. Fallout 4 romance mods are relatively common, and they take quite a few different forms. Some mods improve or tweak the existing companions, giving them visual makeovers or even expanding their dialogue options. Others focus on immersion by adding things that enhance all romances. Finally, certain creators add new romanceable characters to Fallout 4, expanding the Sole Survivor’s pool of potential partners.

There’s no denying that the female NPC companions available in Fallout 4 are already interesting and, overall, a great match for the Sole Survivor. However, if players are sick and tired of romancing the same female companions over and over throughout various playthroughs, the Blood Rose – Voiced Companion with Affinity mod can help.
This mod introduces a new companion with 320 dialogue files for players’ games. Her Affinity system isn’t perfect, but it’s well-developed and can offer a refreshing take on how relationships work in the Boston Commonwealth.

This particular version of the mod applies to Piper, who can be very interesting at first, but tends to repeat herself more and more as the story progresses. By adding this overhaul, she will immediately become more interesting and fun to hang out with, thanks to her newly acquired conversational skills.

The backstory of this character is fun to uncover, and players can fall for her if they wish. With more and more voiced followers being added to Bethesda games, there’s no better time to hang out with these custom characters if the player wants to engage in a new playthrough with unfamiliar faces.

It’s a shame that a mod exists only to revive the wife of the Sole Survivor, but players will take what they can get. The Nora Spouse Companion mod is an admirable event that lets players reunite with their long-lost spouse after their child is taken.
It makes for a heartfelt reunion, especially with both characters banding together in a bid to search for their missing son. The work put into making this mod feel natural in Fallout 4’s world should be lauded, and Nora is a pretty interesting companion in her own right too.

I know what you are thinking, “Hancock is already the sexiest zombie in gaming, how could he get even sexier?” Well, this mod found a way. Jokes aside, Hancock is one of Fallout 4‘s most memorable companions, but a walking corpse who looks the part might not be every Sole Survivor’s ideal romantic partner. This version gives the zombie a bit of a makeover, granting Hancock a new face and body skin that more closely resembles the character’s concept art.

There’s an affinity system in most Bethesda games that governs what companions like and dislike concerning the main character, and Fallout 4 is no exception in this regard. Companions will judge the Sole Survivor based on what actions they perform, with these metrics being rather odd to track and not really all that clear for players who want to woo the companion of their choice but don’t understand why they aren’t falling for the Sole Survivor.
With the Make Love Not Fallout mod, players can make companions like all their actions, regardless of how heinous they may be. This can be a bit immersion-breaking, so only players who are desperate to engage in a romance with a particular character should think about downloading this mod. It’s a simple change to the game’s system that makes it easier to make companions like the Sole Survivor, which is bound to be useful for obvious reasons.

Hearing characters both passively and actively flirting with the player is pretty great, with the player being able to flirt right back if they wish. Bethesda is known for many things, but character animation certainly isn’t one of them. Even the reveal trailer for Starfield showed that Bethesda was still pretty weak in this department, with the characters looking wooden as always. This makes character interactions feel slightly more jilted, and this is especially apparent when the player is trying to woo one of the potential romanceable options in the game.
Players who feel like their sense of immersion is being hampered by this title should check out the Expressive Expressions mod. This mod isn’t just useful for romance but makes every interaction in the game all the more believable. The static expressions of the characters in the game are replaced with handmade ones that look pretty authentic and engaging in their own right.

For some reason, it seems that Bethesda programmed companions to constantly pitch the idea of a romance after reaching maximum affinity. This can get annoying for players who only want to initiate a romance with a single character and don’t want to be too rude while rejecting others.
With this simple mod, players can reject certain companions with way nicer dialogue options instead of rejecting them outright. It feels like a nicer way to deal with the companions in the game without feeling too rude in the process.
