iQOO and Vivo have quietly raised the prices of several smartphones across their Indian lineup, with hikes going as high as ₹3,000 depending on the model and variant. Vivo T5 Pro

The Vivo T5 Pro sees the steepest hike of the lot at ₹3,000, while the iQOO 15R 8GB/256GB sees the smallest at ₹1,000.

Why This Is Happening

iQOO and Vivo are the latest names to join a broader industry-wide price hike trend in India. The root cause is the ongoing global DRAM and NAND memory shortage, driven by AI data centres buying up chip capacity at high prices. Memory manufacturers like Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron are prioritising more profitable AI server orders, which has squeezed supply for smartphone-grade memory.

Per a Counterpoint Research report, the shortage is expected to push smartphone prices up by 8 to 10% globally in 2026, and could stretch into 2027. OnePlus, Nothing, Realme, Xiaomi, and Samsung have already raised prices on a range of models earlier this year.
