Vivo has started revealing key details about its next-generation foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold 6, ahead of its anticipated launch in China later this month. The company has already confirmed that the device will mark a major shift for its foldable lineup by adopting MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9500 chipset instead of the Snapdragon platform that powered previous Vivo foldables.
Recent teasers shared by Vivo Product Vice President Huang Tao and Vivo Communication Technology Product Manager Han Boxia have shed more light on the foldable’s design, camera capabilities, display technology, and AI-powered productivity features.

Vivo X Fold 6 Launch Timeline and Expected Price
While Vivo has yet to announce an official launch date, multiple teasers suggest that the Vivo X Fold 6 will debut in China before the end of June. The foldable is expected to compete directly with upcoming premium foldable devices from Samsung, Honor, and Oppo.
As for pricing, Vivo has not revealed any official figures yet. For reference, the previous-generation X Fold 5 was launched in China with a starting price of CNY 6,999 (roughly Rs. 83,000). Given the significant hardware upgrades and larger battery, the Vivo X Fold 6 could arrive with a slightly higher price tag.
Vivo X Fold 6 to Focus on AI-Powered Productivity
Vivo says the X Fold 6 has been developed around the concept of delivering a large-screen foldable experience combined with AI-driven productivity tools.
The smartphone will debut with an upgraded Atomic Workbench feature, allowing users to run multiple applications simultaneously on the large foldable display. The feature will be integrated into OriginOS 6 Fold and optimized for the new Dimensity 9500 chipset, promising smoother multitasking and improved workflow management.
The company is positioning the device as a productivity-focused flagship aimed at users who rely on their smartphones for work, communication, and content consumption.
Vivo X Fold 6 Camera Specifications Confirmed
The camera system is shaping up to be one of the biggest highlights of the Vivo X Fold 6.
Vivo has officially confirmed that the foldable will feature a 200-megapixel primary camera based on Samsung’s HPB sensor. The sensor measures 1/1.4-inch in size and is paired with an f/1.68 aperture lens. The company also claims CIPA 4.5-level image stabilization for improved handheld photography.
Additionally, the X Fold 6 will become the first foldable smartphone to feature a ZEISS APO-certified periscope telephoto camera. The setup utilizes Sony’s LYT-602 sensor and supports the Vivo ZEISS Teleconverter G2, enabling an equivalent focal length of up to 200mm for capturing distant subjects, concerts, wildlife, and sporting events.
Further camera features confirmed by Vivo include:
- Vivo V3+ dedicated imaging chip
- Multiple portrait focal lengths ranging from 23mm to 100mm
- Full-focus flash support
- AI-powered photography enhancements
- Advanced ZEISS imaging capabilities
Vivo X Fold 6 Expected Specifications
Apart from the confirmed details, several leaks and rumors have revealed additional specifications of the upcoming foldable. The Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to feature an 8.02-inch foldable inner display using Samsung’s latest M14 emissive material. Both the inner and outer displays are claimed to deliver up to 5,000 nits peak brightness, while a dedicated 1-nit ultra-low brightness mode should improve nighttime viewing comfort.
The displays will also carry TÜV Rheinland Global Eye Protection 3.0 certification. On the design front, Vivo has teased a new Blue Hole color option inspired by deep-sea sinkholes. The foldable is said to feature a slimmer profile, rounded corners, and a refined metal frame for better ergonomics.
Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset and could pack a massive 6,900mAh battery, potentially making it one of the largest batteries ever fitted inside a foldable smartphone.
With a flagship camera setup, AI-focused software features, a larger battery, and a refreshed design, the Vivo X Fold 6 is shaping up to be Vivo’s most ambitious foldable smartphone yet. More details are expected to emerge as the official launch draws closer.
