Lava Smart 4 Plus Launched in India: IP64, 5000mAh Battery, and Android 15 Go

Lava has launched the Smart 4 Plus in India today, priced at Rs 9,999. It’s the first phone in the brand’s new Smart series, aimed squarely at buyers looking for a dependable daily driver under Rs 10,000. The headline features are the IP64 dust and water resistance rating and the 5000mAh battery, both of which are genuinely uncommon at this price.

Display

The Smart 4 Plus has a 6.75-inch HD+ display. At this size and resolution it’s clearly built for media consumption and general everyday use, and the large screen should work well for video streaming and reading.

Performance and Storage

The phone runs on a UNISOC 9863A octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM, expandable by another 4GB through virtual RAM. Internal storage is 64GB. It’s not a performance-first device, but the UNISOC chip paired with Android 15 Go should keep things running smoothly for typical everyday tasks like calls, social media, and light streaming.

Battery and Charging

There’s a 5000mAh battery on board with 10W charging through a USB-C port. Lava hasn’t made any specific claims about battery life in hours, but a 5000mAh cell on a Go edition of Android and an HD+ panel should comfortably get through a full day without much stress.

Cameras

The rear setup is a 13MP AI dual camera, and there’s a 5MP front camera for selfies. Camera specs at this price point are typically straightforward, and that holds true here too.

Durability and Software

The IP64 rating is the most notable thing about the Smart 4 Plus for its price. It means the phone can handle dust exposure and accidental water splashes, which is a real practical benefit for buyers in this segment who may not always be in controlled environments.

Software is Android 15 Go, with two years of assured security updates promised by Lava. The phone also supports Band 28, which helps with network connectivity in rural and semi-urban areas.

After-Sales Support

Lava is bundling a Free Service at Home option with the Smart 4 Plus, which covers after-sales support across India without the buyer needing to visit a service centre.

Availability

The Smart 4 Plus is available now across Lava’s offline retail network. Lava has also made it available on financial schemes through retail partners, which makes it more accessible for buyers who’d prefer to spread the cost.
