Poco F9 Pro, Poco F9 Ultra Global Launch Date Confirmed for September 1: Check Expected Specifications

The Poco F9 series has been rumoured for quite some time, and the Xiaomi sub-brand has now confirmed the global launch date of its next flagship smartphone lineup. The series will comprise two models – the Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra.

The upcoming smartphones are expected to be global versions of the Redmi K100 series models, which are exclusive to China. Both handsets are also tipped to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

Poco F9 Series Launch Date

Poco has announced that the Poco F9 series will launch globally on September 1 at 8pm GMT, which is 1:30am IST on September 2 in India.

The company has confirmed that the lineup will include the Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra. Notably, the standard Poco F9 is reportedly being skipped, similar to the previous generation.

The teaser reveals the smartphones in white and Dark Cherry colour options. The latter appears similar to the Cabernet Sauvignon finish offered on the Redmi K100 series in China.

The phones also feature “Sound by Bose” branding on the rear, suggesting that Poco could be working with Bose on audio tuning.

Poco F9 Pro, F9 Ultra Specifications

Previous reports suggest the Poco F9 Pro could feature a 6.59-inch QHD+ Plastic OLED display with a 185Hz refresh rate. The F9 Ultra is tipped to get a larger 6.85-inch display with a 2608×1200-pixel resolution.

Both smartphones are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and could be offered with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The F9 Pro could instead use a binned Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V chipset, similar to the Redmi K100 Pro.

For cameras, the F9 Pro could feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50-megapixel 3x telephoto camera with OIS. The F9 Ultra may add a 50-megapixel ultra-wide and 5x telephoto sensor.

The F9 Pro is tipped to pack a 6,330mAh battery, while the Ultra could feature an 8,050mAh cell. Both models are expected to support 100W wired charging.
