Mivi First Smartphone is Arriving in India on September 24: Snapdragon Chipset & Gemini Support Confirmed

Mivi is entering the Indian smartphone market with its first handset, the Mivi One 5G. The Hyderabad-based consumer technology brand has confirmed that the smartphone will launch in India on September 24, marking its expansion beyond its established audio product portfolio.

The company has partnered with Qualcomm, Flipkart and Google for the new smartphone. The Mivi One 5G will also be manufactured in India as the brand looks to build on its decade-long presence in the country’s consumer electronics market.

Mivi One 5G Launch and Expected Price

Mivi has confirmed that the Mivi One 5G will be sold through Flipkart, although its exact price has not yet been revealed.

The company has also confirmed that the handset will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G mobile platform, but the specific chipset remains undisclosed. Earlier reports have suggested that the phone could target the sub-Rs. 15,000 segment, although this has not been officially confirmed.

Mivi has teased the smartphone in a green finish, with rounded corners and a distinctive rear camera module. The setup features two large circular camera rings arranged diagonally, accompanied by an LED flash.

Google Partnership and Software

Google has been named as a strategic partner for the Mivi One 5G. While Mivi has not revealed the exact nature of the partnership, its teasers point towards a clean software experience.

This could mean a relatively close-to-stock Android interface with limited pre-installed applications, although Mivi has yet to confirm the software details.

Mivi Enters India’s Smartphone Market

Mivi’s entry comes at a time when India’s budget smartphone segment is attracting more brands from outside the traditional smartphone space. Philips and Fire-Boltt have also entered the affordable smartphone market, looking to tap consumers seeking value-focused devices.

The shift comes as smartphone prices from several mainstream brands continue to rise, leaving more room in the lower-price segments for newer entrants. Brands such as Mivi, Philips and Fire-Boltt can potentially differentiate themselves through competitive pricing, local manufacturing and partnerships with established technology companies.

For Mivi, the Mivi One 5G marks a particularly significant expansion, taking the company from its established audio business into one of India’s most competitive consumer electronics categories.
