OnePlus has shared the ColorOS 17 rollout schedule for its phones and tablets, and the first update lands on October 29 with the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4. This is the first big update since OnePlus confirmed it is moving away from OxygenOS, so for most users this will also be their first taste of ColorOS on a OnePlus phone.
The schedule comes on the same day OPPO took the wraps off ColorOS 17 globally on October 13, and it runs from late October 2026 into the first quarter of 2027. Here’s the full list of eligible OnePlus devices and the date your phone is in line for.

OnePlus says the update will go out batch by batch, so a listed date is when the rollout starts, not when every unit gets it. The company also notes that the order of models within a batch does not reflect the actual sequence of updates, and that carrier-exclusive models will follow their carrier’s own schedule. The OnePlus 15, 15R, 13, 13s and 13R were already part of the ColorOS 17 open beta in India, which is why most of them sit at the top of the list.
Realme users are on a similar clock. Realme has also announced its ColorOS 17 update timeline, with the GT 8 Pro getting it on the same October 29 date as the OnePlus 15.

Do You Have to Switch From OxygenOS?
No, and this is the part most OnePlus users will care about. OnePlus has said the move to ColorOS 17 is voluntary for eligible phones, so you can choose when to make the jump. If you update and don’t like it, OnePlus has said you will be able to roll back to OxygenOS, though it hasn’t shared exact rollback versions yet.
Older models that are not on this list will stay on OxygenOS and continue to get maintenance updates as per their existing support promise. In practice, the change may feel smaller than it sounds. OxygenOS has borrowed heavily from ColorOS since the two companies merged their software teams in 2021, and OnePlus phones sold in China have run ColorOS all along.
What You Get After Moving to ColorOS 17
- Bouncier animations: OPPO’s Fluid Design makes buttons and panels react with a stretch-and-snap motion when you tap or swipe, so the phone feels quicker to respond.
- New navigation style: System apps like Phone, Notes and Recorder get a floating, transparent capsule in place of the old navigation bar.
- Glass-like visuals: Menus and panels pick up a frosted, see-through finish, and the lock screen gets a new Lockscreen Island.
- Better multitasking: OPPO claims the update holds more apps in memory, launches them faster and lightens the load on the processor during animations.
- More AI features: ColorOS 17 adds a wider set of AI tools, but not everything shown at the China launch is expected to reach India.
If you own a OnePlus 15, 15R or 13 series phone, the update prompt should appear in the software update section of Settings over the next few weeks. Nord 4 and N6 series owners will have to wait until early 2027.
