At long last, Pokemon microSD cards are here. For fans of the pocket monsters franchise, you can now grab one of several SanDisk microSD cards in varying sizes. When you’re not using them to store games on your Nintendo Switch–or other electronic devices like Steam Deck–you can gaze at the cute little Pokemon stamped on the plastic. Right now, you can get a Pikachu (256GB), Gengar (512GB), or Snorlax (1TB) microSD card. It’s rather appropriate that Snorlax has the largest capacity. This is the only model currently available to purchase at Amazon, and it’s already temporarily out of stock (but you can still order it–for now, at least).

It’s worth noting that you are paying Nintendo tax on these storage units, as in comparison, regular SanDisk Ultra microSD cards with the same performance are considerably cheaper. Heck, you can snag a 1.5TB SanDisk microSD card for $110 with this Amazon deal. Still, if you’d like something cute, these are fun little keepsakes and the thumbnail-sized cards have decent read/write speeds. Here’s how much each one will cost you:

This isn’t the first time that SanDisk has partnered with Nintendo to produce branded microSD cards, and if you’re looking for a specific theme, you can choose from The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, and Animal Crossing alternatives. There are also Fortnite and Apex Legends microSD cards with Nintendo branding, just in case you enjoy playing those battle royales on your Switch and you’re looking to dedicate some space to them.

The conventional SanDisk Ultra cards are more attractively priced, and since you’re not going to see it after you insert it into your Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, or other device, well, you really have to like Nintendo themes to pay this high of a premium.

For example, the regular 1TB SanDisk Ultra microSD card is $85, a sizable $45 difference when compared to its Snorlax equivalent, and $35 cheaper than the Zelda microSD. You can even get a 1.5TB SanDisk microSD for $110 at Amazon. This is the largest capacity microSD card on the market right now.
