The Vibrant Dye quest in Crimson Desert serves as a tutorial for dye application. Players can start this as part of the Scattered Embers string of quests for the Greymanes — keep working on these quests until you complete the one where you deliver a stolen wagon to a fence for Yann. Then, speak with Naira, and she’ll tell you all about how dyes work. If you’ve ever wanted to re-color your clothes in Crimson Desert, this quest will get you on the right track.
How to Get White & Gold Dye in Crimson Desert
Become a knight in shining armor, adorned with whites and golds to gleam on the battlefield. Here’s where to find the necessary dye.
Crimson Desert Vibrant Dye Walkthrough
You’ll find Naira bickering with Andrew about the Greymanes’ dreary clothing in front of your tent at Howling Hill. Speak with them, and Naira will tell you to ride with her to the town. Once the two of you reach your destination, you’ll find that the Cauldron needed for crafting dyes has been taken back to one of the shops in Hernand. Follow your map marker, and enter the marked building.
Inside, you’ll find a Cauldron right in front of the door. Light it up, then interact with it. This will open the Cauldron’s unique crafting menu, and here, you can brew a variety of different things like potions, elixirs, and of course, dyes.
At this point, Naira would have given you the recipe for making Bright Red Dye as well as all the necessary materials for making it. Brew the dye in the Cauldron, then use it in your inventory. This unlocks the entire Bright Red Dye color palette for you, and you can use it as many times as you won’t. You don’t need to craft any more of them.
Now, head to the Dyehouse where Naira originally left you at. Approach the vendor there, then select the Dye option. From the new menu that appears, select the piece of equipment that you want to re-color. You can apply one dye color for each available slot for your items in Crimson Desert, so feel free to get creative. Vibrant Dye will be completed as soon as you pay the dye master for his service.
Make sure to go back to Naira after you’re done. She’ll give you a bottle of Grey Dye, which you can use as a substitute for silver colors.
Important Dye-Related Tips
Dyehouses can only use colors that are specific to their home region. The one in Hernand can’t dye your clothes blue, the one in Delyssia can’t dye your stuff red, and so on. The best place to dye your gear in Crimson Desert is actually in the Greymanes Camp itself. Once you upgrade your camp enough times, you’ll eventually get a rumor investigation request from Marius that will lead you to Oliver, the clan’s resident dye master, and he’ll happily dye your equipment without region restrictions.
Dyes of various colors are sold by each of the dye houses across Pywel. Other color shades are given out as rewards or found just lying around in the world. For reference, here are the colors you can expect to find from different regions:
- Hernand: Red
- Demeniss: Purple
- Tariv: Violet
- Delesyia: Blue
- Pororin: Yellow
- Tashkalp: Orange
- Greymanes: Grey
