There are a ton of different containers, chests and lockers you can loot in The Outer Worlds 2. It’s an easy way to get handy crafting materials, extra Bits, or powerful weapons and gear that’ll help you on your adventure. One of the first chests you’re likely to come across is Kaur’s War Chest. This can be found in a shack near Fairfield, but it’ll require a keycard to get open. In this Outer Worlds 2 guide, I’ll explain how to open Kaur’s War Chest and where to find it so you can get the loot inside.
Where to Find Kaur’s War Chest in The Outer Worlds 2

Kaur’s War Chest can be found in a shack just to the west of Fairfield on Paradise Island. This is the first planet and location you’ll find yourself in after the opening mission, and Fairfield is the main town not far from where you land The Incognito. I’ve marked the exact location of the shack you’ll find Kaur’s War Chest in on the screenshot above.
How to Open Kaur’s War Chest in Outer Worlds 2

Once you’ve got here, head inside, and you’ll find the large chest on the floor just right of where you enter. When you try and interact with it, you’ll find that you either need Kaur’s War Chest Keycard to open it or have your Lockpick skill at level 5 and one Mag-Pick to get inside without it.
You get two skill points every time you level up, and Mag-Picks can be bought from vendors or found around the world fairly easily, so it shouldn’t take you too long to meet the requirements to get in without the keycard.
For those who do want to get the keycard, you’ll need to first get the Pickpocket perk. This requires you to have your Lockpick skill at level 1 before you’ll be able to get it with a perk point. Once you’ve done this, you need to head to the large building where you spoke with her and Milverstreet initially and had to choose to side with one or the other. Head into her office off the main room here and creep up behind her. When you’re close enough, you’ll get the option to pickpocket her and grab the Kaur’s War Chest Keycard.
The war chest has a bunch of different items in it, including Bits, a Designator Triple Barrel Shotgun, and Kaur’s Korroder. If you’ve got the ‘Treasure Hunter’ perk, you might also find additional bits and crafting materials.
If you’ve already helped Kaur during the ‘Above and Beyond Repair’ quest, then the chest won’t contain Kaur’s Korroder, as you’ll receive this as the quest reward.
