The Persuasion Device is one of the ‘invention’ items that Dr. Beanies gives you in Mewgenics if you help him with his requests. The problem is, some players are finding they’re not exactly sure how to use it, what the point of the device is, and how they can complete this side quest to get the really useful version of the item as a reward. In this guide, I’ll run you through everything you need to know about Mewgenics‘ Persuasion Device, so you can get it, complete the quest, and reap the rewards for yourself.

How to Get the Persuasion Device in Mewgenics
As I eluded above, the Persuasion Device is obtained by giving Dr. Beanies five cats that have mutations, birth defects, disorders, or parasites. After you’ve given him five of these cats, he’ll give you one of his inventions.
From my experience, the order in which you get Dr. Beanies’ inventions appears to be a bit random, especially if you’ve had one of his items and then lost it on a run.
Once you’ve got the Persuasion Device, you’ll be able to equip it to one of your cats that you take out on an adventure.
What Does the Persuasion Device Do and How to Complete its Side Quest in Mewgenics
The Persuasion Device can be equipped to a cat and reduces its Speed stat by two. However, it can be used to permanently Charm a non-boss enemy, meaning it’ll join your party and fight alongside you in battles.
It’s worth noting that the Persuasion Device can only be used on enemies in adjacent tiles to the cat that has it equipped. In other words, you can’t start charming enemies from the other side of the map for fun.
Now that you’ve got the Persuasion Device, the side quest for this particular invention requires you to complete a run in a certain area with it equipped. The area you need to complete is randomized, and from my experience, appears based on how far you are through the story. Getting this early on will make it considerably easier to complete the quest, as enemies are less difficult in general.
You have to have the Persuasion Device equipped during a run in the specified area, otherwise it will not count.
To complete a run in an area, you must reach the end of the map and beat the boss fight. I’d recommend giving it to one of your cats with a high Speed stat, so that the -2 to this stat doesn’t have as big an impact on your overall strategy as it would if you put it on another cat with average or below-par Speed.
After beating a run, return to Dr. Beanies, and he’ll reward you with 200 Coins. He’ll also let you keep the Persuasion Device, which is great, as it’s a very handy item to have at your disposal. However, it is a little disappointing that completing a run with it doesn’t get you a better version of it without the Speed nerf, like we got with the Broken Magic Mirror.
