Throne and Liberty
More Content Incoming in 2026
2026 is going to be a great year for Throne and Liberty since this MMO is going to add a few things to its already packed repertoire. Starting in Q1 of 2026, with the Tower of Temptation (another PvE Dungeon), with lots of interesting rewards and challenges. Plus, balance changes for builds, weapons, and PvP.
Plus, Server Vs. Server PvP War events are coming early in 2026 (according to the roadmap provided by the devs), which will turn a designated server into a PvP on a scale never seen before in an MMO (which will probably be glorious). This game is also dropping another new Raid later this year, so fingers crossed, there will be Throne and Liberty for a long time.

Ashes of Creation
Where Old School RPG And New MMO Gimmicks Merge Splendidly
Ashes of Creation is one of the most anticipated titles of the MMO world, and despite still being in Early Access, it is quickly rising in popularity and player base. With a community-driven in-game economy and a progression system that merges classic RPG features with modern takes on MMO PvEvP gimmicks, this title is showing true potential even in its immature stage.
Plus, with 8 classes to pick from, and a multiclass system that allows players to combine them to create 64 unique sub-classes, this game is among the best of the best in terms of buildcraft. Ashes of Creation might have a steep learning curve and a hardcore crafting system, but that’s what makes it even more rewarding when players begin to learn how to play.

Where Winds Meet
A Breathtaking Wuxia Adventure MMO
The global release for Where Winds Meet (WWM) was massive, not only due to its stability but also because of its breathtaking next-gen graphics, and the merge of flashy wuxia combat, incredible animations, and challenging enemies. WWM is an enormous game, with tons of incredible adventures to live, and a classic tale of love, loss, and revenge to tell.
With lots of martial arts and weapons to try, it keeps drawing players in despite its gacha-like in-game economy. But most of the microtransactions are dedicated to cosmetics and some pay-to-fast items. The rest can be easily grinded through the many PvE activities in the game.

Chrono Odyssey
One of This Year’s Heavy Hitters
Created by Kakao Games, this merger of Dark Fantasy and classic Eastern MMO sets the bar high for everything that launches later this year. It is supposed to launch during the second half of 2026, so players will still need to wait a bit to test it out.
The Biggest Open World Games, Based On The Size Of Their Maps
Open-world games are beloved for their massive maps. Here are some of the biggest open worlds that gamers can explore in the genre.
The playtest ran through the second half of 2025, and it left lots of positive feedback from those who had the luxury of participating. With realistic combat and incredible graphics, Chrono Odyssey is a must-have on the wishlist of every MMO fan.

Cinder City
If The Division And Ghost In The Shell Had A Love Child
Developed by BigFire Games and published by NCSoft, Cinder City is a strange game that looks like a merger of Tom Clancy’s: The Division, Resident Evil, and Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex. With next-gen graphics, its gameplay trailer shows an amount of explosions that would make Michael Bay blush.
But above all else, it looks like an interesting proposal, a cyberpunkish MMO set in a dystopian future with a zombie outbreak in the mix could work really well. It is thought to be released at some point during 2026, at an unconfirmed date.
3
ArcheAge Chronicle
Extreme Graphics And Tons Of Action
ArcheAge Chronicles is a Fantasy MMO being developed by XLGAMES and published by Kakao Games. It looks formidable in the graphics aspect, and the setting is similar to games like New World and Elden Ring: Nightreign.
Fans of the MMO genre will have the chance to test it out real soon, since it’s a game that has been confirmed to aim for a release window sometime in late summer 2026.

Fractured Online
Had A Stepback, But It’s Ready To Go For More
- Developed by: Happy Cauldron Games
- Type: ARPG MMO – Community Driven Economy/ Seamless Open-World
- Platforms: PC (standalone launcher)
- Release Window: Late February/Early March 2026 (Relaunch)
Fractured Online is an indie project born of the love for classic MMOs like Ultima and ARPGs like the Diablo series, so their influence is notorious in its gameplay. It had a first stage of Alpha Access during which the community-driven world really flourished.
But merging player-driven economy with PvPvE in a seamless open-world is not easy, so the devs had to take a step back and rethink a bit before its relaunch, which is planned to happen soon (between February and March 2026). All-in-all, it’s a great game, with an interesting economy and settlement system, and clan-managed kingdoms and cities, so heavy on the PvP content as well.

Soulframe
One of The Most Anticipated Titles Of The Year
Soulframe is the highly anticipated Fantasy MMO developed by the creators of Warframe with a level of detail and an enigmatic gameplay that merges sword, sorcery, and marksmanship. With its Preludes closed-alpha still ongoing (Since July 2025) and invitation being rolled in, the game is slowly but steadily growing.
So, it is no surprise that rumors of an Early 2026 release are going around like wildfire. But, since Digital Extremes has not confirmed nor denied a potential launch for this year, those eager to try this awesome-looking game should cross their fingers and keep waiting.
