Realme appears to be getting ready to expand its numbered series again. The Realme 16 5G has now shown up in a Vietnamese retailer listing, offering an early look at its specifications and design, even as the company itself remains quiet on an official announcement.
At the same time, Realme Vietnam has begun teasing the device’s arrival, hinting that a launch could be close, at least in select markets. Taken together, the teasers and the listing paint a fairly complete picture of what the Realme 16 5G might bring.
A Familiar Display Size With Higher Brightness
According to the retailer listing, the Realme 16 5G features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. That size isn’t new for Realme’s mid-range phones, but the brightness figures stand out. The panel is said to reach up to 4,500 nits at peak, which should help with outdoor visibility.
The display is protected by AGC DT-Star D+ shield glass and includes an in-display fingerprint scanner. Durability also seems to be a focus this time, with the phone listed as carrying IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.
New Camera Layout and a High-Resolution Selfie Camera
Realme’s teasers suggest a design shift on the back. The Realme 16 appears to use a horizontal camera bar, similar to the iPhone Air, though Realme adds a small selfie mirror next to the rear cameras.
Camera hardware, at least on paper, looks straightforward. The phone is listed with a dual rear camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary lens. On the front, there’s a 50-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Video recording is listed at up to 1080p at 30fps.
Dimensity 6400 and Android 16 Out of the Box
Under the hood, the Realme 16 5G is said to be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 chipset. Some listings refer to it as the Dimensity 6400 Turbo, though Realme hasn’t clarified branding yet. The phone is expected to come in 8GB and 12GB RAM variants, both paired with 256GB of internal storage, along with microSD card support.
One notable detail is the software. The Realme 16 5G is listed as running Android 16 out of the box, likely layered with Realme UI 7.
Big Battery, Slim Profile
Battery capacity is another highlight. The Realme 16 5G is listed with a 7,000mAh battery paired with 60W wired fast charging. Despite that large battery, the phone reportedly measures just 8.1mm in thickness and weighs 183 grams, which is relatively restrained given the capacity.
Connectivity options include dual SIM support, 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, an IR blaster, OTG, and a USB Type-C port.
Variants, Colours, and Expected Launch Timeline
The retailer listing suggests the Realme 16 5G will be available in two configurations: 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB. Colour options listed include Air Black and Air White.
Interestingly, the device is shown with an availability date of February 2 in Vietnam, which could point to its official launch timeline. Pricing details haven’t been revealed yet.
