This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.

The One Piece manga has been experiencing a whole lot of breaks recently. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of this manga, has had his hands full with a lot of projects, and as such, has been taking more time off. While One Piece always goes on break down, since the beginning of the Elbaf arc, the breaks have been more frequent. This can be both a good and bad thing for fans, but nevertheless, the wait doesn’t get much easier, especially at such an intense point in the manga where one of the biggest events in One Piece history, the God Valley Incident, is about to unfold.

Two weeks ago, One Piece went on a hiatus, and it was, undoubtedly, a difficult time for the fans to get through, but the manga is returning very soon. One Piece chapter 1161 is about to drop on September 29, 2025, in Japan, and fans can’t wait.

    • One Piece Chapter 1161 is Coming Soon

One thing One Piece manga fans hate seeing is a new manga break, and sadly, this has been happening more frequently as of late, in large part due to Oda’s health and need for more rest days, but also sometimes due to Shonen Jump, which takes a break on Japanese holidays. The most recent break, which started after One Piece chapter 1160 on September 14, 2025, is soon going to be over.

The One Piece manga is returning in Japan on Monday, September 29, 2025, with a new chapter, One Piece chapter 1161. This is going to be very exciting for One Piece readers as the exciting events of God Valley resume. One Piece Chapter 1161 will be available to read for most Western fans on September 28, 2025.

With the manga of One Piece finally returning, fans are now wondering when the series will go on break again after One Piece chapter 1161. Readers will be pleased to learn that it has already been confirmed that the next One Piece chapter, One Piece chapter 1162, is scheduled to release on the next Sunday, on October 5th, 2025 in the US. This means the upcoming chapter will not be delayed by any breaks. This was expected, as Oda’s pattern is usually to take a break every two to three chapters.

One Piece Chapter 1161 will be out this week. As usual, One Piece is going to drop on Sunday. In Japan, One Piece drops at 12AM JST on Monday, which is September 29. However, the vast majority of international readers will see the chapter available on September 28. The official release date of One Piece Chapter 1161 in the US is September 28, 2025. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
