TATA.ev, India’s largest four-wheeler electric vehicle manufacturer, has expanded its public charging network by inaugurating 14 new TATA.ev MegaChargers across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in partnership with Voltran. These are India’s first fully manned EV charging stations, designed to offer reliable and fuel-station–like support with 24/7 assistance, physical marshals, lounge facilities and flexible payment options.

With this rollout, TATA.ev now operates more than 70 MegaCharger sites nationally. The expansion is part of its ‘Open Collaboration 2.0’ approach, under which the company partners with charge point operators to create high-speed charging corridors on important highways and urban routes. TATA.ev plans to set up over 400,000 charging points by 2027, which will include 500 MegaChargers, targeting seamless intercity EV mobility across India.

Mr. Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., said the rise in EV adoption demands dependable charging solutions that offer convenience and peace of mind. He said the new MegaChargers are the first in the country to be manned 24/7 by trained marshals, helping EV users travel between key cities without anxiety. He added that the service model, backed by over 70 MegaChargers nationwide, reinforces TATA.ev’s commitment to creating fast, reliable and premium charging experiences similar to conventional fuel stations.

Mr. Raja Sekhar Upputuri, CEO, Voltran, said the partnership sets a new benchmark for public charging in India. He noted that users do not need an app to charge and can pay using cash, card or UPI. All MegaCharger stations offer air-conditioned lounges, clean washrooms and multiple food options, creating an easy and comfortable stopover experience during long-distance travel.

The newly launched TATA.ev MegaChargers are positioned across high-traffic highway corridors and major cities. The flagship station in Madhapur, Hyderabad, features 12 fast-charging bays and amenities such as a café and free Wi-Fi. Along the Hyderabad–Bengaluru highway, two MegaChargers at Beechupalli and Anantapur serve as premium charging stops, each equipped with multiple fast chargers, restrooms and dining options. Other installations span important travel routes such as Hyderabad–Vijayawada (Suryapet), Hyderabad–Tirupati (Mydukur, Miryalaguda, Tirupati), Vijayawada–Chennai (Kaza, Ongole, Nellore), and the coastal Srikakulam–Visakhapatnam–Vijayawada stretch (Srikakulam, Gannavaram, Rajanagaram, Anakapalle). All stations feature multiple connectors, fast charging up to 360 kW, clean lounges and 24/7 on-ground support.
