Xiaomi is expected to launch the Xiaomi 18 series in China sometime in September. The initial lineup is said to include the Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro, and 18 Pro Max, with the Xiaomi 18 Ultra expected later in the year.

A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station gives us a clearer idea of what to expect from the base Xiaomi 18, and it points to a few changes that matter more in daily use than on spec sheets.
The Display May Get Slightly Bigger
The Xiaomi 17 and 17 Pro were positioned as compact flagships with 6.3-inch displays. This year, the Xiaomi 18 could move to a 6.4-inch screen. That’s not a big jump, but it does suggest Xiaomi is slightly relaxing the “compact” idea.
The leak also says the Xiaomi 18 Pro may use the same display size. A slightly larger panel could give Xiaomi more room inside the phone, which usually helps with things like camera hardware and heat management.
A Periscope Camera May Finally Come To The Xiaomi 18
Cameras seem to be the bigger story this year. Earlier reports had already suggested that Xiaomi might finally add a periscope telephoto camera to the standard Xiaomi 18. The latest leak supports that and adds more.
According to the tipster, all models in the Xiaomi 18 series, including the 18, 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, and 18 Ultra, could feature a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.
Pro Models Could Push Cameras Even Further
The Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are expected to go a step further with cameras. The tipster has previously said these models could feature two 200-megapixel cameras, likely one for the main sensor and one for the periscope zoom.

The Pro models may also keep the rear secondary display seen on earlier Xiaomi phones, though this time it could be more flexible in how it’s used.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 For Most Models
On the performance side, Xiaomi appears to be sticking with its usual approach. The Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro, and 18 Pro Max are expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip from Qualcomm.

The more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro is likely to be reserved for the Xiaomi 18 Ultra, keeping a clear gap between the Ultra and the rest of the lineup.
