A Pokemon GO player found a diffuser at the supermarket that looks very similar to the Daily Incense item from the game, prompting them to make a post expressing their amusement toward the find. Considering the Pokemon GO item is based on a real-life incense diffuser, the similarities probably make sense to most fans, but the design on this user’s discovery looks particularly similar to the one from the game.
Pokemon GO has enjoyed a continued streak of popularity since its launch in 2016, with in-game events and consistent new updates still bringing in new players and giving older fans more content to enjoy. The game already bridges the gap between the video game universe and the real world with its augmented reality mechanics, but some players manage to find parallels between them in other ways as well.

A Pokemon GO player sees their child waste their Master Ball on Christmas, catching an underwhelmingly common Generation 5 Pokemon.
One such fan is Reddit user aoidhri, who took to the game’s official subreddit to share their discovery of a real-life aromatherapy diffuser that looks a lot like the Daily Incense item from Pokemon GO. The original post shows the real-life diffusers on a shelf at a supermarket, taking shape as a white, teardrop-shaped heating receptacle with a light blue top, just like they appear in the game.
Pokemon GO Fan’s Supermarket Find Looks Straight Out Of The Game
Many fans showed up in the comments of the post to share their amusement at the similarities between the two, while others made jokes about the prices of items in the Pokemon GO in-game shop. The user did not reveal how much the real item cost at the store in which they found it, however, so there would be no way for fans to compare the price to the equivalent in the game’s premium currency.
Typically, Daily Incense in Pokemon GO are used to attract a higher volume of Pokemon to the player as they explore the real-world areas around them, giving them a chance to catch more along their route. Developer Niantic gives one out to all players as a daily reward for logging into the game, which can increase players’ chances to find rare Pokemon and work on their Pokedex.
The Daily Incense is particularly useful when hunting for shiny Pokemon or participating in the game’s many seasonal events that often feature exclusive variants of existing Pokemon for players to catch for a limited time. Currently, Pokemon GO is preparing for its Hatch Day event on December 29, which will increase the chances of shiny Pokemon appearing and will highlight Pokemon like Elekid and Magby.
