OnePlus is reportedly gearing up to launch several new smartphones in India including the OnePlus 16, OnePlus 16T as well as the OnePlus 16R. While none of these India launches has been officially confirmed, the leaks give us an early idea of what OnePlus could have planned for its next-generation smartphones.

The OnePlus 16 is expected to sit in the premium flagship segment, while the 16R could offer high-end specifications at a relatively lower price. The OnePlus 16T, meanwhile, could appeal to buyers who prefer compact smartphones without compromising on cameras and performance.
Here is what we know about the three upcoming OnePlus phones so far, including their expected specifications and prices in India.
OnePlus 16 and OnePlus 16R may launch in India
According to tipster Debayan Roy, also known as Gadgetsdata, the OnePlus 16R is definitely in development for India, while the OnePlus 16 is almost confirmed. Another tipster, Abhishek Yadav, claims that OnePlus is testing global software for the flagship under model numbers CPH2901, CPH2903 and CPH2905. Its availability could reportedly be limited to India and a few other Asian markets.
The OnePlus 16 has already launched in China, where its starting price is CNY 5,999, which roughly translates to Rs 86,000. The smartphone features a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 185Hz in supported games. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset and packs a 9,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
For photography, the OnePlus 16 gets a triple rear camera setup comprising a 200-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera.
The OnePlus 16R, on the other hand, remains unannounced. However, leaks suggest that it could be based on the recently launched OnePlus Ace 7 series in China. The phone is tipped to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a 200-megapixel primary camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom.
As for the expected price, Roy claims that the OnePlus 16R could cost between Rs 70,000 and Rs 75,000 in India. The OnePlus 16, meanwhile, is tipped to start between Rs 1.3 lakh and Rs 1.4 lakh. For comparison, the OnePlus 15 launched in India at Rs 85,999, while the OnePlus 15R started at Rs 47,999.
OnePlus 16T tipped to feature dual 200MP cameras
Apart from the OnePlus 16 and 16R, the company is also reportedly working on the OnePlus 16T as a successor to the OnePlus 15T. According to leaks, the upcoming phone could be a rebranded version of an OPPO compact smartphone expected to launch in China.
Coming to the specs, the OnePlus 16T is tipped to feature a 6.35-inch flat LTPO OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display could have a 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio.
Under the hood, the smartphone is expected to use MediaTek’s 3nm Dimensity 9600M chipset. It could also feature an IP69-rated build and a metal frame, with its thickness reportedly measuring less than 9mm.
Cameras could be one of the biggest upgrades. The OnePlus 16T is tipped to feature two 200-megapixel rear cameras, including a primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and a periscope telephoto camera. This would be a significant jump over the OnePlus 15T, which features two 50-megapixel rear cameras.
The battery capacity is expected to be around 7,000mAh or higher, with support for 80W wired charging. The phone could run Android 17. For comparison, the OnePlus 15T packs a 7,500mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
OnePlus 16, 16R and 16T India launch: What to expect
OnePlus has not officially confirmed the India launch of any of these three smartphones. The reports currently suggest that the OnePlus 16 and 16R are being considered for the Indian market, while the OnePlus 16T is linked to an upcoming OPPO compact smartphone that could be introduced under the OnePlus name in other markets.
There is also no confirmed India price for the OnePlus 16T yet. The OnePlus 15T launched in China at CNY 4,299, which is approximately Rs 58,000, for its 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.
If these reports turn out to be true, OnePlus could soon have three very different options for its customers. The OnePlus 16 may target those looking for a premium flagship, the 16R could offer a slightly more affordable alternative, and the 16T could bring flagship-level cameras and performance in a compact form factor.
Do note that none of these details have officially been confirmed by OnePlus. So, it is best to take this information with a pinch of salt.
