One of the best parts of The First Berserker: Khazan is its fast-paced combat, where you’re constantly guarding and dodging enemy attacks while sneaking in a few hits of your own. Stamina management plays a major role in how each fight goes down, and Agility is one of the key factors that affects it.

But like many soulslikes, the game doesn’t do a great job of explaining how Agility actually works. Since this stat affects both your stamina recovery and dodge cost, it’s important to understand how it ties into your build. For those looking to know more, here’s a breakdown on how Agility works in The First Berserker: Khazan and how you can make the most of it.

The First Berserker: Khazan – How to Sell Items

Got a bunch of stuff sitting idly in your inventory? Here’s how to sell your items in The First Berserker: Khazan.

How Does Agility Work in The First Berserker: Khazan?

    the-first-berserker-khazan-dodging-enemy-attack

In The First Berserker: Khazan, you can’t level Agility directly. It depends on your equipment load, which means that the type of armor you’re wearing and your weight both affect your Agility. Depending on your equipped gear, you’ll fall into one of the three Agility tiers in the game:

    • Agility A: Equip Load under 60%
    • Agility B: Equip Load between 60% and 75%
    • Agility C: Equip Load above 75%

Unlike other soulslikes, going into a high equip load won’t lead to fat-rolling. However, both your Stamina Recovery and Dodge Stamina Cost will take a major hit. The lower your equip load, the faster your stamina recovers, and the less stamina it costs to dodge. But there’s also a positive to having a high equipment load.

Since the weapons in The First Berserker: Khazan don’t have any weight, your Agility stat mainly depends on the type of armor that you’re wearing.

    • If you’re wearing Lightweight Armor, you’ll usually stay in Agility A, which means you’ll be fast and nimble. Dodging and Brink Guarding are your primary defense, and with higher Agility, you’ll be able to weave through enemy attacks without worrying about your stamina running out.
    • Heavyweight Armor, on the other hand, will usually push you into Agility B, which allows for a good balance between speed and defense. Your stamina recovery is slower, but you’ll also be able to take more hits without dying.
    • Plate Armors are the heaviest armor types in the game and will typically have you playing at Agility C unless you’ve invested heavily in Vitality and Strength. Because of the increased defenses of this armor type, you’ll be able to face tank enemy hits and won’t have to rely on your dodge to get out of danger.

Which Agility Tier is Best in The First Berserker: Khazan?

For nimble builds using the Spear or Dual Wield, Agility A or B gives you the responsiveness and stamina freedom you need. Greatsword users or tankier builds might be more comfortable hanging around in Agility B or C, where you can take more punishment.

When you’re playing in Easy Mode, Agility tiers are a bit more forgiving. For example, you can carry more weight and still stay within Agility B. This gives you a bit more flexibility to equip heavier gear without immediately dipping into Agility C territory. It’s a solid option if you want more defense but still want to stay relatively mobile.

Agility plays a big role in how your build performs in combat. Whether you’re going all-in on dodges or tanking through hits in heavy armor, knowing how to manage your equipment load and stay in the right Agility tier can make a big difference in The First Berserker: Khazan.
