    April 3, 2025; New Delhi:
“The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) has said that the recent executive order signed by US President Donald Trump on April 2, 2025, as part of the “Liberation Day” initiative. “We understand the US administration’s desire to boost domestic manufacturing and address trade imbalances.”

ACMA remains hopeful that the ongoing bilateral negotiations between the Indian and U.S. governments will lead to a balanced resolution that benefits both economies. We believe that the strong trade relationship between India and the United States, especially in the components sector, will encourage continued dialogue to mitigate the impacts of these measures.

ACMA is committed to engaging with all stakeholders to ensure the long- interests of the Indian auto component industry,” said Shradha Suri Marwah, President ACMA and CMD Subros Ltd.

It is important to note that automobiles and auto parts, as well as steel and aluminum products, are already subject to 25% Section 232 tariffs announced earlier in President Trump’s March 26, 2025, order and are not covered by the aforementioned order. A detailed list of auto components subject to a 25% import tariff in the United States is still pending.

ACMA remains optimistic about the ongoing bilateral negotiations between India and the United States.
Governments will achieve a balanced solution that benefits both economies. We believe that.
India and the US have a strong trade relationship, particularly in the auto sector, ACMA President Marwah said
